Great Food and Service 4/5/2006

Just had dinner there this past weekend I think the new management and the new chef have made a huge differance and FOR the BETTER. Had the stuffed chicken it was to die for. They have done so much remodelling we usually spend New Years Eve there and I had to laugh when I read the previous posting. It was from New Years 2003 and I was employed there at the time. Funny thing is that was not even close to the menu and the previous owner designed the menu, the hotel rooms are a little small but you don't have to turn sideways.. I that was worth a good laugh. I'm excited my wedding is going to be there this July. It truely is the nicest and most affordable place in Salem. If you want good food from a clean kitchen trust me I have worked in numerous restaurants. Pros: Good Parking, Great Menu, Entertainment more

Another great meal 4/5/2006

I have been a fan of Timberlanes for a long time. The bar is a great local joint where you don't have fights and you can just enjoy yourself. The restaurant is my favorite my wife and I dine out there at least once a month and the kids love to go there on Sundays for breakfast before Church. The food is affordable but the portions are so great you can have lunch the next day. The staff is really friendly. The entertainment is so much better since they chaged it. The menu is large so everyone can find something that you like Pros: Food, Price, Service more

New Management 1/2/2003

Spent New Year's Eve here. Apparently the food and service has gone downhill somewhat since new management took over. The food was gourmet wanna-be, things like frog legs, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, giant crab legs etc. The main course was pretty good but really nothing outstanding. They used to have chefs cut the meat but now it was your standard buffet-style serving. Our room was tiny too. You had to turn sideays to get past the bed to make it to the bathroom. The TV looked like it was from the 70's and the remote did not work. It is probably the fanciest restaurant/inn in Salem but they really could do better. Cons: Small rooms more
