Lower your expectations before renting here!! 6/9/2010

My husband and I rented this unit, sight unseen, as we were moving from out of state and were unable to make a trip beforehand. When we arrived, we discovered that our unit was in poor shape: stove was missing drip pans which made it difficult and annoying to cook, both linen closet and laundry closet had dysfunctional doors (one is completely off the hinge), patio light doesn't work, washer & dryer are SUPER tiny and in bad bad shape, and they are the ones that replaced our broken ones, which took forever to get replaced, several windows were missing their screens....etc...the bigger problem is that we put in a work order to have these things fixed and it took SEVERAL messages and weeks to get results. We have lived here for 3 months and still don't have all of the items fixed. They advertise A/C...but it's really a poorly running swamp cooler, essentially doesn't work at all, they advertise having TWO pools, yet here we are in the heat of Summer and neither pool is operational. One of the pools was briefly working, but even then it was dirty with debris and dirt, and NOT heated. Oh, and the hot tubs don't work either. We have also been cursed with a crazy neighbor who complains constantly to management about us, even though we're not living unreasonably loud. To make matters worse, management accuses us of things, without asking us what our side of the situation is. Also, they advertise that this is a pet friendly community, but it's not really. If your dog so much as barks a few times, everyone in the damn place complains. We work at home and are with our dogs all day, rarely is it that one of us is not home with them, so we know they aren't barking that often, but people complain complain complain. Were I able to do this over again, I wouldn't rent here, no way, no how. I would rather pay more money somewhere else. Pros: Nice, safe area, close to amenities Cons: Both pools are broken, no storage, dishonest management more

What a Bust 6/6/2009

I moved to Albuquerque from Atlanta because of my job. I made a big mistake and signed my lease while in Atlanta (before seeing what I was getting myself into). Staff dishonest and unorganized. Do not live on the 1st floor. Walls are paper thin, you will hear the people above you, when they walk, use bathroom, pass gas, use bed that creaks, everything. Every little sound will eventually drive you nuts especially when you are trying to go to sleep. Parking is bad, they claim you will have a 1 car garage, but what they fail to mention is that based on the unit you are assigned you will not be able to park in front of the garage. If you are one of the unlucky one to have such a garage and have two cars-good luck finding a place to park for the second car. Also, you do not have access to your apartment from the garage unless you live in the townhouse style unit for over $1000/month. Most importantly, you have no storage in a 2bedrm apartment. My leasing agent had the audacity to tell me that's why we have garages and most people living here use the garage for storage. If they tell you that you will be getting an updated apartment do not be impressed until you check it out for yourself. The updates consist of white appliances (refrig, stove, dishwasher) with faded cabinets that seriously crying ""I need to be stained"". The washer and dryer are compact stacked on top of each other and fit in hallway closet or the pantry (if you get the 1 bedroom). Thus in the 1 bedroom you will be without an adequate food storage place. You will spend more time doing laundry because you can only do small loads at a time. It will be impossible to wash a large blanket, if you do the sound alone that the washer will make (I am having a slow painful death-please help) will make you think twice about washing such blanket again. more
