Worst

Not the same since Wolfman left to go to Full Moon in Wentzville. He was their best artist and they're only average without him. Cons: Wolfman's gone!

I had an existing tattoo that I was never really happy with until today. Threshold was able to get me in right away. An artist named Chase Taylor was able to take my old tattoo and turn it into art that I'm now proud to own. I really do appreciate his ability and his craft. I went to threshold today to get my tongue pierced and it was a much more relaxing experience than I had thought it would be. The owner (cute sweet little brunette) was my piercer and she was amazing at relaxing me and talking me through everything. She did whatever it took to acclimate my needs and I didn't felt like I had been rushed or anything. Their prices are fairly cheap. The money I spent was well worth it and I will definitely be going back!! more

Best experience I could have asked for... 2/16/2012

I walked into Threshold with an idea of what I wanted in my head hoping someone could piece it together perfectly for me. Lucky for me Ryan was able to do that. Ahhhmazing work. I had an awful tattoo on my left shoulder that I wanted covered. Not only did he do a phenomenal job making sure that the entire tattoo was covered and wouldn't be visible but he was able to incoporate it as part of the rest of the tattoo I was wanting from shoulder to hip. Three sessions later I finally have a piece I am proud to show off and no more blobbish mess. Not only is he an exceptional artist, he is also a very easy guy to chat with and makes you super comfortable. I already have him drawing up ideas for my next tattoo. I have found myself an artist for life! The shop itself is extremely clean and the staff are all awesome. My boyfriend actually decided to have some work done there too after seeing my progress and how friendly and accommodating everyone was. Definitely a place I recommend to anyone and Ryan is definitely an artist I would suggest to any and everyone! Big thanks go out to him and the entire staff! more

I just went to get my 2nd Tat from Threshold and Bryan did an awesome job. I always have felt comfortable there and the artist are always nice. Will be back for a 3rd. Thank you Bryan! It looks great. You're Awesome! more

Jon is my hero 11/1/2010

I came in one evening to see if a very bad tattoo could be fixed. Jon met me at the door and took a considerable amount of time trying to determine what he would be able to do to fix it and then I made an appointment for a couple of weeks out. \r \r When my appointment time came, I went in with an ugly tattoo and left with an awesome one. The shop is so clean, and the people are so nice. Jon was very nice while he was working on my tattoo and some of the other artists would come by to see what was happening and to chat a bit. Great experience. highly recommended! THANK YOU JON! more

Disappointed 10/31/2010

Called ahead afternoon of 10/30/10 and very specifically asked if they would do a wedding band tattoo and was told yes. Drove all the way out there only to be told the person who had agreed to do it had changed their mind and refused to do it. Not only did they lose that business but the business of the 2 other people who were with me. We didn't see any other customers during the 15 to 20 minutes we waited to be told no. Why not just say no on the phone? I might have still gone for other tattoos, but they let us get all the way there before deciding not to do the work. I won't go back. more

I was referred to threshold by a friend and was totally thrilled with my experience. My roommate and i both got a tattoo, and we had a good idea with what we wanted but were totally decided. we were not pushed to make a quick decision and the artists but their opinions to what would look best. Ryan took my vision and made a fantastic sketch for me. I have had another tattoo before but he kept on checking to make sure i was doing ok throughout the whole entire tattoo. I will defintiely be going back because everyone was nice, knowledgable, and i had a fantasic experience. more

Amazing Shop 8/2/2010

This place is simply amazing. I was a little nervous to get my first tattoo but after i went in and talked to the very knowledgeable all my doubts were lost. Nate was my artist and he did simply an amazing job on it. The shop was very clean and in order also. I got my first tattoo at the beginning of summer and i already have an appointment to get my next one. Threshold will have my business forever. There are no words for how good my experience was there. Pros: Very talented, nothing but top notch work Cons: None, this place is amazing more

I was at first a little nervous because this was my first tattoo and I hadnt seen an example of the art work. But I put all my trust in Jon and was very happy and impressed. He is extremely creative and artistically talented. He took his time and was very detailed. I will definitely go back to jon for my second tattoo. I do custom hot rods. as a mother of a 17 yr.old son wanting to get his first tattoo needeless to say i wasvery leary. well not anymore. after visiting threshold talking with the staff and meeting my son's tattoo artist (nate) i left with a good feeling. a week later my son got his tattoo and it was beautiful! nate did a wonderful job. this place is clean, the staff was extremely pleasant and i was reassured by everything i wasn't sure about. i have never had the desire ti get a tattoo until now, and that's saying alot. we will be back!!!! Horrible Piercing Experience 3/21/2009

I got my tongue and nose pierced 7 days ago here. My tongue ring is extremely off center and my nose ring keeps falling out. When I complained they offered no refund and there is no way I would let anyone in that shop lay a hand on me ever again. Iron Age is the best tattoo/piercing shop in the area BY FAR! Amazing 10/29/2008

I went to Threshold for my first tattoo and I was rather nervous because I had brought in a couple generic pictures of what I wanted a couple weeks before and I had no idea how it was going to be put together. I went to the shop on the day of my appointment and Jon walked up with a beautiful drawing and said ""I didn't want to copy the pictures you brought in because someone already had that tattoo. I want to make yours unique."" That was really cool of him. One thing I worry about is cleanliness and he made sure to put on gloves and wash his hands after every break he took. He talked to my friend that came with me and I throughout the tattooing process and it definately made it an enjoyable experience. I was VERY happy with how my tattoo turned out and how much attention he paid to the details. He was concerned about keeping it clean and using special moisturizer so it healed right. It's been over a month now and I have absolutely no complaints. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I DEFINATELY recommend Threshold to anyone that's looking to get a tattoo. more

Once again the best 10/19/2008

Once again Threshold doesn't disappoint! This was my second tat and my buddy's second also. Both times were a great experience. The shop is clean and is run by some cool people. They are easy to talk with and shoot the sh*t with. Steve took good care of my buddy and I gave us some good pointers and made the experience great. Our tats turned out awsome! I would definitly recommend Threshold. Pros: You can go knowing you'll get the best Cons: nadda more

Friendly, honest, and true artists 10/13/2008

I visited six tatoo shops before I decided on Threshold, and I'm glad I waited. Right from the start, I felt like they were there to help me, without feeling pressured. I wanted something to cover-up a thirty-one year old mistake, and Steve helped me decide on something that would fit perfectly. One word: Stunning. 5/20/2008

I went to threshold last year to get my belly button pierced. I was only 14, but the place was well kept. The people were nice and easy to work with. I heard belly button piercings get infected real easy, but I did what they told me to do, and it has turned out wonderfull. My sister got a tattoo there, when she turned 18, and her tattoo turned out great too. i highly recommend. And the prices are not bad either. it was 45 all together for my belly ring. Pros: Got my piercing done quick. Cons: Nothing. more

wife and daughter wanted tattoos stopped in rock star that was the biggest joke they were totally frucked up rude and so over priced i would recommend people stay away. on the other hand thresholds people were totally cool and prices were about half that of rock star. also thresholds shop was spotless. would highly recommend you guys to everyone. thanks jon son likes his name on mom more

Rockin' tat 2/17/2008

I decided I was ready to get my latest tat, and a friend of mine had gone to Thresh Hold and raved about it. So I stopped by and found exactly the tat I wanted. The staff was great. Jon did a phenom job! I LOVE my bee!! It so rocks! It was clean, everyone was great, there were a couple of 1st timers there, and they were really cool about answering all their questions and making sure that they were truly going to be getting the tattoo they wanted. I'll definately get my next tat there! more
