Best

I choose this vet over North Davidson Vet, they are quick and can get you in if you feel like it is an emergency. I live in Welcome, but prefer to drive further for the excellent ...

Worst

My pet has been a patient for several years. Having been healthy, receiving her shot, grooming through Pet Center (satelitte hosp); however, when an emergency arose....well.........

New to the area we got a referral was told we'd get 10% off but we didn't. We just needed vet to look at our dogs ear b/c he had an ear infection. They pressed the anal gland, charged us and didn't even ask us if we wanted it done. We never wanted the gland pressed & now his gland is leaking all over our furniture & smells bad. This was the worst experience we've ever had. Don't go to this vet. more

I had a german shepherd that needed emergency care because it was a weekend. I couldnt give them 800.00 bucks upfront to treat her. They said i needed to put her down if I couldnt pay them. I had no choice and they had no heart. My vet works with me but they were closed that weekend.I miss her terribly. rest in peace macie. more

Incorrect pricing quoted over phone. (Cost was twice as much as expected.) Some (not all) members of staff quick to be snappy and rude. Poor handling of pet during euthanasia, repeated attempts to administer dose despite pet fighting back and needles blowing veins. Should have sedated the pet first. Unnecessary length of time and struggle. more

Best Vet Hospital I have ever been to. As an aspiring DVM myself, I was really impressed by the quality of care exhibited by all of the staff. When first reading the reviews on here before my visit, I was slightly skeptical, but I'm glad I choose to go (can't really take advice from people who can't spell or use grammar correctly right?)! Everyone was very professional and took the time to explain all of the options to me and they went through the exam step by step. It might be a bit pricey, but your are really getting what you pay for (paying $10 less to have an assistant with no formal training do your exam and shots isn't very comforting, especially is you care about the way your pet is treated). The doctors are well educated and the assistants well trained and able to handle their jobs. I felt that the facility was very clean and taken care of and I really look forward to going again. Also, they are AAHA accredited (meaning that they have the best credentials that a clinic can have) which really impressed me. None of the other vets in the area seem to be as good. If you're looking for a new clinic, this is definitely the one to choose!! more

Thank you for your help! 2/7/2012

I had an interesting/mostly-positive experience this morning as my kitty became the newest patient at Thomasville Veterinarian Hospital. I was given the recommendation from a family member who has lived in Thomasville for years (20+) and by the numerous reviews I've read online. I took a chance and I was pleased with most of what I saw and how I was treated. That being said, there are three things I would like to see changed before I return. 1) The front office staff, while generally very helpful and considerate (Thank you, Misty!), did have a bit of a personality conflict. It seemed to be localized to one individual and that is unfortunate because it brings the entire professional vibe of customer service down. It could have been a low-blood sugar issue, but if a client notices, there is an issue to address. Also, when billing, make sure that where the line item for check number is requested, you actual use the check number and not the amount. That's just confusing for the Accountant and the client. 2) I was told at the time of my appointment that I would be allowed to stay with my pet. That was half-correct. During the fecal and CBC panel, I was left waiting in an examination room. I wish someone would have spoken to me sooner as I was waiting. But, that is my personal preference. I was, however, present for the wellness exam and was offered a thorough explanation of how to make the life of my kitty better. So, Thank you Dr. Cecil for taking the time and seeing that my questions were answered. It was very professional of you and much appreciated. 3) The general look about the lobby and exam rooms leads me to believe that this is more of a 'doggie' place than a 'kitty' place. I realize that cat people are finicky by nature but when I can hear gossip taking place outside the exam door or throughout the lobby while I am waiting patiently, I wonder about who's watching over my animal. Also, I expect a higher-level of sanitation. Although, it could have been much worse...it can always smell and look better! (There was puke in the parking lot I had to step over when I got out of my car...ew!) So, where I would have rated my experience a 3 stars, I opted for 4, given that Dr. Cecil was exceptional! If only the whole staff had that level of care at their heart's center. This could really be an exceptional practice. Thank you Dr. Millerin for being available to help out with the blood draw! I know your gentle touch calmed a skittish kitty at a stressful time. Arty is happy to be home and I am happy she is healthy and safe! Best Regards, Jennifer more

Dog Mom in distress 1/4/2012

My pet has been a patient for several years. Having been healthy, receiving her shot, grooming through Pet Center (satelitte hosp); however, when an emergency arose....well.......they jumped all over it.....telling me what she needs. When I asked about expense (which makes you feel bad), the Dr excused herself to speak to office manager and came back with an offer to hook me up with a finance company! What they were saying is that they could help my dog, but if I couldnt pay the bill in full at time of service........here's a finance company...I have been a customer for several years and at NO given time have I ever NOT paid my bill....in a matter of minutes the bill went from $250 to $500. So when I asked if I could make payments....thats when the finance company came in to play..I specfically said ""so you are telling me you can save my dog, but because I cannot pay the bill in full now my only alternative is to put her down"".........the doctor and assistant just stood there and looked at me......we can offer you reference to our finance company........For the pet...NO...For the $..YES........having this experience makes me really miss my retired vet Dr. Thomas McNeil....HE MADE HOUSE CALLS!!!! more

HAD BEEN CUSTOMER FOR YEARS 4/2/2011

I had been a customer of this doctor before he had any other doctors with him. I think he is one of the best veterianarians in the triad. However, I did leave him because of the way I was treated by his ""staff"". That is a shame, but I have to look at the whole picture - if his staff is hateful to me, then how do they treat my animals when I am not there with them?? more

I owe my dogs life to this place! 1/21/2011

I choose this vet over North Davidson Vet, they are quick and can get you in if you feel like it is an emergency. I live in Welcome, but prefer to drive further for the excellent service. I know they can not all be perfect, but to me this place saved my dog when North Davidson turned me away after waiting a hour to find out they would not take my pet in an emergency situation. I drove straight to Thomasville and they got my dog seen right away! more

Very Caring Staff 5/19/2009

I have used this Veterinary Hospital for more than 15 years and have always been pleased with the treatment my animals received. They have been there for me thru new puppies and kittens and deaths of my dear old four legged family members. They are a great group of folks! Pros: They are willing to take time with you and answer all your q Cons: They are busy which means they are good!!! more

The worst vet i have found yet 3/11/2009

this was the worst vet office i have ever been to. I had just got a new puppy and only had him a week. for some reason he tuned up sick. I did not have a vet yet so i though i would try this one and then continue taking my puppy there for future shots, treatments, ect.. but it turns out it was offal. the doctor acted like he was in such a rush he couldnt explain nothing to me. he talked over me very fast and didnt even bother to explain anything. he checked my dog for worms and he didnt have any and then checked for parvo and said he didnt have any signs of that either. he ended up giving me a $100 worth of medicine for an upset stomach. That would have been fine if that would have really been what was wrong with him. i take my sick puppy home and pump all this medicine into him for two days an he continues to get worse until he got really stiff and wouldnt eat at all. At this point i was really worried and i took him to another vet. gladly, the other vet took the time to check out my puppy throughly and found out that he did have parvo. If the doctor would have just taken his time and really checked my puppy he wouldnt have to have had to suffer and almost die. I will never return to this vet again because of the poor service and money hungry people. for anyone who is looking for a very good vet for there pets i would suggest dr. smuck at the North Davidson Vet. He cares about your animals and wont over charge you just to make a dollar. Pros: I didnt find any Cons: seems like the office was more worried about getting my money than worried about the health of my dog more

Kind and Careing Staff 1/1/2009

My mother n law has been taking her Fiest Terrier to this Vet for several years. About 6 years ago the dog had a seizure and scared my husband and I we were able to call the Vet and took the dog in where they found out she has a Heart Murmer and is now on 2 different meds at all times. Thanks to the fast and prompt evaluation of the dog she is still alive and overall well. Also this Vet is very good and careing they put you and your pet first and make sure you recieve your medicine refils as soon as possible or if for some reason they cant get it to you fast they call to inform you of this. more

Excellent Groomers 2/7/2008

Thomasville Pet Center is a division of Thomasville Veterinary Hospital. They are a full service boarding and grooming facility. The staff is very sweet and talented. They always take excellent care of my pets. They sell Pro Plan and Hill's brand foods, as well as Hill's Veterinary Prescription Diets. They carry a wide range of flea and tick products, as well as heartworm and intestinal worm prevention. The doctors from Thomasville Vet come down Monday through Friday and update any vaccinations and do physical exams for those pets that are being groomed or boarded. This is so convenient! I can drop my pet off to be groomed and get their vaccinations updated at the same time so I don't have to make another appointment at the Vet. Since they are owned by Thomasville Vet, who is also well known for their high standard of medical care, the Pet Center's staff is also trained to assist the Vet with the exams and labwork. They help me keep track of when everything is due. Plus! In May they have Pet Week, where I can get discounts at both the Vet and the Pet Center for a variety of things. I highly recommend Thomasville Pet Center. Give them a call 336-476-5080! more

Thomasville Vet Hospital 8/7/2007

The staff here is wonderful, we recently had to have our border collie of 12 1/2 years put to sleep due to a brain tumor. The doctors and staff could not have been more compassionate to us during this time. Our family really appreciated the treatment we received there. more

Doggie gives them 2 paws up 11/6/2005

I take my moms dogs here for shots and check ups. They take good care of them and the dogs seem to like the vet. They let you know when they are bringing big dogs in. Just don't leave a blanket- they never can find them. When its time to pick up the dog, they take you a room by yourself and you get to hold the dog before you go out to check out. more
