11/10/12\r The instant I walked into Dr. Thomas' office, the atmosphere was very pleasant. His staff was warm and friendly. The wait time was no more than 5 minutes. \r I was really nervous due to bad dental experiences in the past with other dentists. However, from the instant Dr. Thomas walked in to meet me he made me feel completely at ease. He was so down to earth, kind and patient with me, treating me with dignity and respect. He treated me like a human being and not just a number. \r I have a very complicated case and was put off for many years by other dentists in the past, but Dr. Thomas was different. He was so positive and really gave me hope in achieving a beautiful smile, which is so important to me, due to being led in the past to believe that this wasn't possible for me. He explained his dental plan for me step by step and made sure that I understood. He truly went out of his way to help me in any way he could. It was a Friday afternoon and I had an important event to go to the next day. He heard about this and offered to make a very unattractive, problematic front tooth of mine look more presentable for me so that I would not feel so insecure. He was very gentle and would explain to me that it would not hurt each time he was about to proceed with working on my tooth and it didn't hurt. I am extremely happy with the work that he did to create this temporary tooth for me. I was actually on the verge of tears. It looked so great! I can tell he is a perfectionist and he pays very close attention to detail, which is so important when dealing with someone's smile. I can only imagine how magnificent my smile will be when all is said and done and I am excited to get started.\r I also explained to him that I am on a budget. He was caring and understanding of this and more than willing to work with me on a payment plan. \r I am so happy with my overall visit with Dr. Thomas and have the utmost confidence in him. His efforts to help me went above and beyond my expectations on just my first visit. I am looking forward to my future with not only a beautiful smile, but a gorgeous smile! more

At the age of 31 I would have never thought in a million years that I would have gotten braces at this point in my life. Not only was it a financial risk but from my youth years on all I had heard were horror stories about having braces. With the recommendation of my dentist (Dr. Schlesinger of Black Mt. Dentistry) that I use one San Diego?s top adult/kids orthodontist (Dr. Thomas of Poway Braces) and I?m extremely grateful that I did! Dr. Thomas and staff are good people and I always look forward to my visits and the fresh baked cookies too. With that being said I am happy to report that my teeth are moving nicely and the whole process has been way easier that I could have imagined. Financially they allowed me to finance my brace through the office with a low easy monthly payment and the NEW Damon Braces have minimized my office visits. Dr. Thomas was our first orthodontist in San Diego, when we first moved here. The staff at his office was really just the best. They all had smiles on and greeted me each time i walked in. It was very easy to talk to each one of them. The treatments were fast and professional. After my time with them my teeth were better than ever. I have more confident in myself with my new look. Dr. Thomas was very nice about everything and I got my braces off in a decent amount of time! My high school years are going to be awesome with my straight teeth, shining smile...and it's all thanks to Dr. Thomas and his team! more

I can not say enough about Dr Thomas and his team. The team work and the respect each person has for the other is very apparent in this office. We are now half way through my daughter's treatment and I am amazed by the difference in her teeth. I am in awe of how quickly her teeth have moved and her smile has changed and she is not an easy case. The treatment plan was laid out for us and we have followed the plan. Dr Thomas is professional and very competent and he runs his office as a well oiled machine. Everyone is friendly and professional with appointments always on time. I LOVE THIS TEAM. Dr Thomas was very incompetent in my treatment. What was supposed to be an eight months treatment became a 16 months ordeal. He told me that it would take about 6 visits. Between constantly popping off brackets (quite often they didn't have the right glue to use and had to use alternative material) and innumerable things that went wrong with his choice of treatment I ended up having over 40 visits to his office. It was a waste of time and money. He made so many mistakes along the way that now I have to deal with root reabsortion on my two front teeth. What a big mistake to have chosen Dr Thomas to put braces on me. When I logged to review sites to leave my review about him I founded out that there were other unhappy patients out there that reviewed his business before I even started treatment. How I wish I had checked his reviews sooner. Cons: Incompetent more

My daughter and I both went to Dr. Thomas after learning that was an orthodontic instructor and up to date on all the latest advanced in orthodontics. We both had challenging cases, and Dr. Thomas knew exactly how to get the results desired. Not only was he able to straighten our teeth, but also help our flat profile and set back chins. No head gear, no teeth pulling, no spreader, nothing as drastic as what the other orthodontists wanted to do. But his results far surpassed what any of the others had told me to expect. But he wasn't surprised. He knew all along that was the result we would get. I couldn't be more pleased! more

We have been with Dr. Thomas's orthodontist office for almost 10 years, when his office in Poway opened. We feel blessed to have him as our orthodontist in the past and currently. Our entire family has had braces with him, my husband, my two older daughters, myself & now our youngest daughter. We have several orthodontist in our own home town, but chose to drive to Poway for results we prefer. When I took my two oldest daughters in, my main concern was to correct the large over bites and crookid teeth so they would not have such a complex when they smiled. Let me brag about Dr. thomas & say his goal in mind was more than we ever expected. I had two teenage girls that wouldn’t smile for a single photo, had low self esteems, etc. His treatment has done more than just bring their smile & confidence back. My oldest won Homecoming Princess, My middle daughter won Princess one year & Queen the next year. A beautiful smile goes a long ways, & we give all the credit to Dr. Thomas & staff they are amazing. When you walk in their office as strangers, you'll leave feeling like part of their family. I can honestly say with many offices in the past, I felt like just a number, but not at his office. Were so happy to be back in the office with our youngest now, we've missed them. I stand 100% behind my referral & proud to call him our orthodontist.
