I hate to see the reputation of any company chopped down because people do not know the whole story. Randy Leeds was the former President of Thermo-tite. It was a family owned business. A divorce in the family took place and Randy decided that he had had enough and decided to leave. This ended with Thermo-tite shutting down because the others in mangement and family could never have kept it going. As a matter of fact Randy cared about the old customers so much that he agreed to take over the service line from his old partner and said he would maintain as best as he could a place for old Thermo-tite customers to call. He agreed to continue charging the same amount for the service charge as Thermo-tite did. Not one dollar more.\r As a matter of fact he even said that if he could get parts from any of the companies that Therm had there windows manufactured at he would supply the part at no charge. Unfortunately two of the manufacturers Thermo- tite used also shut down.\r \r When Randy decided to go in a different direction and joined First Choice as the President , he made sure he was surrounded by solid manufacturers like Pella and Serious . Companies that make the most energy efficient products in the United States today.\r \r And please understand that First Choice never acquired anything from Thermo Tite. All we did was agree to have an old number of thiers forwarded to a phone number for customers to call to get there windows fixed and hopefully add them to our new Family. We will do whatever it takes to help anyone. That is the basis of First Choice. Energy efficiency and lowering the use of oil gas and electricity. Doing whats right for people and the enviornment.\r \r We just cannot do everything for free . We wish we could. more

I wish I could rate this ""repair inquiry"" a ZERO. \r \r There are two phone numbers linked to Thermo Tite: one rings at ""The Replacement Window Center."" \r \r The ""customer service"" person at the other number that is listed for THERMO TITE said that they are now ""First Choice,"" a new company, who acquired Thermo Tite. \r \r I live near Port Chester, NY, and offered to bring my one 18"" x 27"" upper window in for repair because the inner glass cracked. \r \r The gentleman said that they only do a field repair, that no depot repair exists, and that it woudl cost $150. That covers a trip for a technician to drive to my house to measure the glass, and another to repair it once the glass is ""custom cut"" (which takes two weeks!). \r \r Needless to say, I'll have it repaired locally for MUCH less than the $150 quoted from the shysters at ""First Choice."" more
