I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex to my worst enemy. I lived at this apartment complex from June 2013 to May 2014. Nothing but bad service came from both managements. First off, birds lived in the roof above us and could be heard chirping and fighting fighting 24/7. Poop litters the lawns year-round. The parking lot is smothered in pot holes. Our 2nd floor porch was decaying and had a huge hole in it. I notified the management and was told that they'd get to it when they could. They never fixed it. In October, my boyfriend's brand new car was broken into. I called management to report the damage and to forewarn others. No response or answer was received. The cops told us that cars have been broken into all around the neighborhood. After insurance, he still had to pay over $500 out of pocket. Around the same time, the boilers in my apartment building were broken. It was around 30 degrees in our apartment complex for about 4 days. After it was fixed, we realized that the boilers made our apartment a living hell. From November to April, it was 90-100 degrees in our apartment. No joke. The only time we had a reprieve was when it was below 0 degrees outside. I would come home from work and put on shorts and then sweat all night in the middle of January. The heat dried out all the elastic in my clothes, which I've since had to throw away. My neighbor made her own lip balm and she told me that it was melting. I complained more than 3 times about the boiler being too hot. Their response? ""I'll have them look at it when they can."" It never got any better. Around February, they notified us of management change. Around that same time, I adopted a dog. I had a paper that they gave me when I first moved in stating that I had to pay a $200 refundable dog deposit. When I went to pay it, I was told that it was now a NON-REFUNDABLE dog deposit, even though I only had 4 more months to go. They asserted that they had the right to change anything in the lease without giving prior notice. How can you trust management when they say they can change anything in your already signed lease? In late April I complained to the new management about the boilers systems being extremely hot. Even with the windows open, I couldn't get the temperature in the apartment below 100 degrees. They claimed that some families were cold at night, so legally they couldn't shut them off. I had to keep the sliding door open when I was at work so that my dog wouldn't get heat stroke. I was then sent a letter stating that my dog was heard barking and if they received more calls from my neighbors that they wouldn't allow me to keep her there. The only reason they heard her was because I had to leave the door open, which left my belongings open to anyone during the daytime. Later on, they said my building's boiler's thermostat was broken and assured me that they'd fix it next year. I didn't and still don't believe them. It was absolutely unbearable. About a month before we moved out, we found out that new management was charging $100 less to live in our apartment. We inquired and they said, ""We can only offer the cheaper rent to NEW TENANTS. We cannot allow renewing tenants to pay less than what they already do."" I'm sorry, WTF? Really? We moved out as soon as our lease was up. I will never live there again.
