The Surrey House And Gardens

On August 3rd 2013, I was fortunate enough to marry the most amazing woman in the world. As expected, The Surrey House accomplished everything possible to ensure that beautiful moment would last forever. \r \r The building is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. We instantly fell in love with the high ceilings, timeless wooden floors, and overall classic feel. \r \r Working with the staff was great. Every promise they made was fulfilled. On wedding day, everything was ready, clean and beautiful. The staff was congenial towards our guests and made everyone feel at home. The food was great and plentiful. They did an amazing job on the cakes (My grooms cake was an exact replica of an Oreo) . The background music was great. The DJ did a great job of setting up the dance floor and getting people involved to really make it a party. People were happy and having a good time. Everything went perfectly and the experience was one to remember. \r \r Another experience that sums up just how considerate and thoughtful the Surrey House is, was what happened after the reception. It was time to go on our honeymoon and the staff surprised us by packing up our cake and multiple meals for us before we left. This really impressed me. My wife and I were absolutely starving and exhausted from standing and talking to guests all day. It was really thoughtful of them and considerate.\r \r Our wedding was one to remember. The Surrey House not only met, but exceeded all our expectations. They are very professional, experienced, and affordable. My daughter will be getting married at the Surrey House in August. This will be our third wedding there in ten years. To be honest, we really appreciate the Surrey house people because they are so reasonable and we are on a tight budget. I was worried that the place might be getting run down because they have been in business so long, but they just remodeled and since they removed the old wall paper, it looks better than ever. As a person who has lived in the area for over 30 years, raised several children and seen a lot of business come and go, I highly recommend the Surrey House & Gardens. more

Do Not Use This Venue! I had paid for the surrey house and gardens for the full day, so there would be no scheduling issues, and I could show up early to decorate and have another walk through with the minister and wedding party. However a of couple hours before my wedding the lady came over and told me that her friends daughter was getting married the next day and she had already told them that they could have rehearsals at the surrey house anyway. Then I had asked for a white wedding cake with dark blue swirls (and showed her a picture of what I wanted so there would be no confusion). The wedding cake was all white and the swirls were in white (instead of dark blue) so it wasn?t going to match with the other decor. She said she could fix it and took it into the back but when she brought it back out the swirls were crooked and smeared looking. Then I had ordered linen to be delivered and told her weeks in advance that I needed the tables bare that morning so the linen could be set up, when I showed up that morning though it had left over linen from the surrey house on it and I had to strip all of the tables myself before the linen lady arrived. On top of all of this she asked that I leave all of the decorations up for her friends daughters wedding (which I paid hundreds for and spent four and a half hours putting up) I said I would as long as she was willing to take them down for me and I would pick them up the next day, she agreed, however when I showed up the next day the decor was still up and I spent well over an hour taking down all of the lights and tulle. All in all horrible service (from the owners), if you want a nice wedding without a lot of drama don?t go here!!!! more

I was really impressed with The Surrey House and Gardens. I had my reception here about three years ago. They had a large selection of quality delicious food choices and helpful servers. I was surprised by how clean and well kept the facility was and how they took care of so many things I forgot to ask about. The House is over 100 years old is a very quaint beautiful place with two good sized ballrooms for entertaining. I definetly recommend it. Pros: very well priced! more
