My phone was ringing off the hook with horrible threats from bill collectors and scams! I did not know where to turn. I tried speaking with other attorneys who just seemed to be judgmental. I was panicked and hopeless when I first contacted Chang and Carlin. I had gotten into trouble with credit cards, student loans, and medical bills. Even though I have a decent job, I just couldn't stay ahead of creditors. Meeting with John Carlin was like taking an anti-anxiety pill. He couldn't have been friendlier, more understanding, or more straightforward. I was horrified and embarrassed by the situation I'd gotten into. He was focused only on assessing my situation and helping me to move on. He looked at my information, went over all of my options with me, and gave me time to come to a decision, while remaining amazingly available via phone and email to answer any of my questions, no matter how stupid I thought they were. He always got back to me promptly. I don't think I ever waited more than a few hours, even in the evenings, to hear back from him. When I ultimately was able to move into a payment plan situation on my own that allowed me to avoid filing a bankruptcy, he continued to assure me that if I had any questions as I proceeded, I could feel free to contact him again. I can honestly say my quality of life has improved since I met with John Carlin. His ability to help me understand my situation and my options has given me back a sense of control and has allowed me to feel like I have a plan to get back on track. We contacted Chang and Carlin LLP for a bankruptcy. A lot of people judge you, like you are a low life who doesn't pay your bills, but they have been nothing but explanatory and supportive. I developed bladder cancer, and it has been a hard road for my husband and I, both emotionally and financially. Bankruptcy is a very emotional and hard thing to go through but they have been helpful and kind. They don't tell us what to do but instead make the best recommendations so we feel like we have options. David, John, Marina, Michelle, and Colin are nothing but the nicest and so informative. Chang and Carlin LLP treat me as a person and I feel as though they really care. I have experienced with other law firms that I am just a dollar sign, but they are not like this at all. Im a firefighter that makes good money , but after my divorce i was living check to check and it was getting harder and harder to get by with all the bills and child support adding up. i felt lost and was worried on how i was going to provided for myself and my kids. i was referred to chang and carlin bankruptcy atty. by a good friend that used them in her bankruptcy. i met with john carlin and after bringing all my required documents sitting down with him discussing options , he thought it would benefit me to file chapter 7. so i did. i was kinda skeptical if i was going to get chapter 7 due to me making good money. i was nervous thru the whole process and must of called john a thousands times but he assured me that everything was ok and was real professional with me like talking with a good friend . my bankruptcy was discharged and i felt all of the debt weight was lifted off me. i would definitely refer them to anybody having financial troubles and feels like there is no other help. thank you john. more
