I just found out that salvationarmy rehab let someone in to there place that really doesn't belong there, because she has been given so many chances at cleaning up and she has not...

Immoral, Over-priced & Unprofessional 2/24/2010

To begin, if you are looking to become employed by Salvation Army, here are some good reasons as to why you should reassess that thought: Management (2 out of 3 managers) is completely and undeniably under qualified to run even the smallest, simplest retail store. They are rude, unprofessional and downright unhelpful. If you buy a piece of electronics, BEWARE, they are not tested properly and about 50-60% of what is put out to be bought is BROKEN. You will not be given a chance to refund or exchange your purchase, despite bringing in the item as proof with your receipt. Most miscellaneous items are priced higher than you would buy them new. Furniture (some pieces in terrible condition) is priced ridiculously. If I could choose two words to describe this establishment, they would be: MISLEADING and MONEY-HUNGRY. The items you donate, they receive at little or no cost at all and sell them for double, or sometimes, triple the value. I'll bet you're reading this saying: Well, then don't shop there. I don't anymore. The thrift store employees are paid next to nothing to juggle a myriad of tasks and pick up the slack for their clueless managers. In short, the Salvation Army is a radically evangelical Christian organization that uses their beneficiaries as a cleaning and cooking staff while teaching them to be less dependent on drugs and alcohol and more dependent on God (which is great! good for you guys!). They hire people by the handful and pay them the very minimum to do exhausting, frustrating and sometimes disgusting tasks, knowing full well they are dispensable. What do they care if an employee quits? They've got a line a mile long of people willing to let themselves be treated like dirt by these racist (YES, they really are), sexist and homophobic DOUCHEBAGS. Thanks, and think twice before you shop at and/or donate to the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Pitman Street in Providence. Pros: Sometimes reasonably priced, used goods Cons: Everything more

I think they should re-think there guidelines 7/12/2007

I just found out that salvationarmy rehab let someone in to there place that really doesn't belong there, because she has been given so many chances at cleaning up and she has not. They told someone that they couldn't allow them to come back because they had a friendship. This person was friendly with someone who was in there before and they trun HIM down becaasue of her Now they let her back in and they turn him away which I do not agree with. It was because of this girl that he relapsed and to this day she hasn't been truthfully with everyone, she only uses people for her own sack.\r I no they help alot of people but they shouldn't turn someone who needs them away and let the other party in, I do not agree with that Pros: they do help people when they need it Cons: they should help all not just who they want to more
