Invited to attend a webinar 2/17/2022

was invited to attend a webinar for ConocoPhilips employees. I learned a lot about our retirement options which was great. It has me thinking about how I need a plan in place. In fact it is more to think about than you can imagine. Patrick Ray was very helpful! more

Virtual Retirement and Benefits Seminar 2/16/2022

After being burned out on video meetings I was coerced to see a Virtual Retirement and Benefits Seminar on tax planning for KP employees. Michael Corgiat did a great job. I'll be giving them a call to set up an appt using Zoom for a free 15-minute discussion. I need help with deciding when I should retire from KP as I have a disabled daughter and want to make sure she is taken care of. more

Computer Webshop 2/15/2022

I work for ConocoPhilips and was invited to attend a Computer Webshop (Zoom etc) The Retirement Group was having. The information was very helpful in explaining tax planning and how the Interest rates impact my pension. Thank you Patrick Ray for the presentation I will be calling soon. more

Online class was great 2/14/2022

After was invited to check out a online video series using the software the Computer Webshop (Zoom etc) hosted by Wesley Boudreaux on Tax planning My concerns were only partially answered after taking the course so have need help and questions. I thought it was informative but I think I still need help. I just don't understand how inflation affects my retirement? I will call The Retirement Group to set up an appt using Zoom for free 15 minute discussion. more

Working for The Retirement Group 5/7/2021

I used to work for The Retirement Group for a couple years before the pandemic started. Because of this my hours were cut and I had to find work somewhere else. I really enjoyed working with Michael Lee and hope that I can have an opportunity to work here again in the future. more

I was invited to a weekly conference call that the Retirement Group has every Friday for information about the retirement process the benefits about it and when it is ideal to do so. I found the conference call very informative and knowledgeable. There was information given that I did not know and was not aware of. more

Enjoyed the seminar hosted by this group. Been to some before that make you feel pressured and talk over your head. Not the case with The Retirement Group. They make you feel comfortable and provide ideas that can help me now. Lunch is nice too. more

Insight that really helped 10/31/2018

Joined them for a lunch workshop they were hosting. They were speaking on my companies pension plan and all of the variables to consider when thinking about leaving company. Really opened my eyes to some new things to think about. An outside opinion helped to shed some light on a benefit that will be a large part of my retirement. more

Solid insight beyond what my company provides 8/28/2018

Attended a dinner seminar in Midland, TX. They did a fantastic job of presenting the information. While my HR does a good job they took it a step further and really explained what it all means. They helped answer questions that will help me walk away from the company with the most I can. Really gave me things to think aboout that I had not heard before. Many of my colleagues have been going and no one has any complaints. Looking forward to more. more

Very Knowledgeable Advisors 8/12/2018

I interned at the Retirement Group for a couple of months while on Summer break from school. Helmut Garcia, Lance Pearce, and Raymond Gin are very knowledgeable on company pensions, and retirement planning. Because of them, I learned how to take complex concepts easy to understand. This is a skill that I will take with me everywhere. I recommend working with them because it's a great experience. I can now go back to school and talk about what I learned in simple terms. more

Very knowledgeable group of advisers 7/30/2018

I had the privilege of interning at The Retirement Group and it was quite a pleasure as it was a learning experience. The strategies and worth ethic they implement to execute each and every plan taught me qualities I will carry on for a lifetime. While interning under Lance Pearce, Raymond Gin, and Helmut Garcia, I quickly realized the intricacies to retirement planning such as learning/understanding the complex company plans and the benefits it offers, but more importantly, the mistakes to avoid. The most challenging part was taking complex terms and verbally explain it in a simplistic manner. Everything from pensions plans to health care plans, Lance Pearce, Raymond Gin, and Helmut Garcia can educate you on. I appreciate the opportunity I had at The Retirement Group and I would highly encourage anyone that is looking for an opportunity to excel and challenge yourself. more

Really great group of advisors to learn from 7/29/2018

Started interning here a while back. It is a great company to learn the business from. The lessons and habits I learned there will certainly follow me throughout my career. Learning from Raymond Gin, Helmut Garcia, and Lance Pearce was something that really made me appreciate the knowledge you need to help others and also be successful. Their knowledge of the pensions and retirement planning was quite impressive. Anyone lucky enough to start here and learn what it takes to be a great advisor should embrace the opportunity. more

Stellar presentation and professional, knowledgeable advisors 4/29/2018

Recently attended a lunch presentation at the Ayers Hotel. They had a great turnout and I recognized a few faces even. The presenter, Michael Lee, did a great job and made some interesting points regarding my benefits with my company, Northrup Grumman.I had a chance to speak with the the other advisor there, Helmut Garcia. He was very friendly and answered a few of my questions. The lunch was really good and the even had dessert which is nice in the middle of the day. Thought I'd take the time and share my experience. more

Just what I needed 3/5/2018

It is refreshing to see a company that knows what is important and puts me before themselves. When many other advisors were telling one thing the advisor with The Retirement Group listened and ensured I did the things I needed with my company benefits before thinking about investments. They didn't put the cart before the horse. They even recommended I take the annuity option on my pension which isn't the usual response I hear. Just felt they had my best interests in mind. Will recommend to others.Only complaint I have is that they don't have more seminars. more

Good information but food was less than stellar 2/20/2018

Attended a seminar with a few colleagues in Houston. We learned a lot about our retirement options which was great. More to think about than you can imagine. The food which is usually great was not on point. Bad day I guess. Felt like some of the information was over my head and went a little fast but they knew their stuff you could tell. more

Surprisingly in-depth insight 2/18/2018

After attending several seminars with other groups, I finally attended The Retirement Group's lunch. Being familiar with my own benefits at my company I was skeptical on how much more insight one could provide. Well, after the lunch I was very impressed with depth of knowledge the advisor had on our plans. Not just the knowledge, but the strategies that will help me to make the most with what I have for my retirement. You can tell they put a lot of time into studying these plans and understanding how to help people walk away with the most amount of money for retirement. Very useful and very informative. more

Thanks for the info 2/5/2018

I went to dinner seminar after a friend invited me. I had never gone to one before but I was really impressed with the amount of information that they knew. Our company does a fine job of telling us what our benefits are but I have heard from many colleagues that retired that there is much more to it when it comes to retiring. The Retirement Group takes it a step further and helps to educate you on what those decisions might look like, the pros and cons to each. I will be going again and I am glad I was introduced to them. more
