Please reconsider 12/21/2010

Puppy Palace gets all their puppies from brokers who buy them from Puppy MIlls. Please buy a puppy from a breeder or go to a shelter. Not to mention the wood shavings that she puts in the dogs area irritate and harm their eyes. If you stay in there yourself for a long time, your nose starts to get irritated from the shavings. If you're an animal lover, please DO NOT buy from a pet store that looks at their animals as plain profit and nothing more. more

Unhealthy Puppies 12/13/2010

Bought a puppy from there and had to return it the next day. Took it to the vet the day after I got it. After this expensive vet visit I found the puppy had 2 types of worms, some type of skin condition or parasite, also hyper-extended feet that could prevent it from running like a normal dog in the future. They refused to acknowledge that it was their responsibility the dog was unhealthy. This is just the day after people! Not a few days. This means that the puppy was in that condition at the time of sale. They did not refund me all my money because it was not found with only 4 specific diseases they cover. I learned my lesson...never buy from a pet shop. It cost me good money to learn that lesson. I thought I would give the pet shop a chance. I can not guarantee all puppies from pet shops are from mills. But Puppy Palace is selling Unhealthy puppies. It is either their own fault or the people they are getting them from. Puppies from breeders cost the same or less and have a full health guarantee. Not a bullshit contract. more

Im very happy, and so is he...thats all is matters!!! 10/22/2010

About a week ago I bought a puppy here, and I can say I am so pleased...I took him to the vet and all is great, he is in great health. That is all it matters, after loosing my best friend after 16 years, I was worried in buying a new pup. But I am pleased & happy so is my wife. They are very proffesional. They have an employee that outstands from the rest, she is extremely compasionate, and friendly takes her time for questions and after not being sure if buying this pup was the right thing to do, i left...sunday my wife & I came back and bought him. I will always appreciate the way they treated me, and all I can say is one person can really make a diffrence, and she did. We love Chauncy, and we hope this young lady keeps loving those pups and making families happy. Good luck & best wishes to the owners!!!! more

Never buy from them 5/8/2010

Do not purchase a dog from Puppy Palace! Yes it's clean and the puppies are adorable however the puppies are not healthy, nor do the owners take the proper steps to ensure that the dogs are well prior to leaving their facility especially when their inventory is low. Get them in and get them out!!! I have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing a family with small children go thru an emotional nightmare. I am going to summarize the last 15 days without all the details because I will not have enough space. Puppy is purchased, 3 days later at the vet given antibiotics for kennel cough and pneumonia , 5 more days hospitalized and released, 2 more days the puppy is seen by Puppy Palace's vet which states the dog has a cough and he states that dogs don't have pneumonia (???) 5 more days puppy hospitalized again and dies. The only thing Puppy Palace offered was to have the family exchange the dog as if it were a garment. I accompanied my friend to the vet visits and watched her nuture, love and care for this sick puppy. I was also there and cried along side her as the newest member of her family could not breathe any longer on her own and died due to her illness. No person and family should have to go thru this. Puppy Palace needs to think of the heart ache and the emotional scarring they caused by displaying unhealthy dogs to make a buck. Based on the health issues this puppy had every puppy that arrived in this shipment are probably ill as well. I hope and pray that others don't experience what I have witnessed. Buy from a reputable breeder that comes recommended from a friend or a vet. more

Happy Healthy Puppies 9/30/2009

Just a line to let you know our little Shae Ming (Shih-Tzu) is the happiest little puppy. She is very healthy and is gaining weight steadily. She is a whole 4.5 lbs. at 5 mths. She makes us laugh all the time and is the boss of our 2 other dogs which both out weigh her. Sharon and Joe are two of the nicest, caring people we have ever met and the take very good care of their babies. I and my husband have been in their shop numerous times and it is always very clean as are the babies. Their little pens are always clean and it never smells in there. Their main line of work is supplying and taking care of all the puppies and nothing else and they do that very well. We could not be happier with the purchase of our little princess. Thank you guys. more

Reality Check Part 2 5/19/2009

FACT: Pet shops usually buy their puppies from brokers. These brokers get their animals from puppy mills – commercial breeding establishments that mass-produce dogs for resale. Most puppy mills and brokers are in the Midwest Pennsylvania and New York. Neither puppy mills nor pet shops properly socialize their puppies. They raise their puppies in tight and often cramped dirty cages – not warm home-enriched environments. In these conditions they lack the benefits of fresh air, exercise, play with lots of positive human contact all of basic necessities that every puppy needs to be able to grow into a well-adjusted adult dog. FICTION: Being USDA LICENSED is not necessarily a good thing. This usually means that you are breeding a LARGE amount of puppies and therefore this is the definition of puppymill. Jumping off the high horse and onto the soap box. Getting deja'vu....where have I had to reply to this one before...oh ya. SeaWorld Pet Center. more

Reality Check 5/19/2009

It's a shame that a lot of people who decide to use this forum are mostly uninformed whiners who love to complain about what a terrible job everyone else is doing. It also seems that they don't assume ANY responsibility when something does go wrong. I'm not trying to stick up for any particular pet store, but there are always 2 sides to every story. Most people don't have a clue about proper animal care and all the things that CAN AND DO happen, WITHOUT human negligence. Private breeders, hobby breeders and backyard breeders are no better than anyone else. In fact, they are more likely to be less knowledgeable and less prepared than LICENSED breeders. Most breeders are not licensed. Even if they tout fancy registrations or champion dogs, it doesn't mean they are licensed, and I don't mean a kennel license. Really, people need to have a clue before shooting their mouth off and thinking they are so much better or would be able to do any better. And to you Michelle, you are wrong, along with so many other people... You can't just assume or believe that all pet store pups come from mills or are brokered. That just proves your ignorance and prejudice. Why not do some homework and then find something else to cry about. Hey, let's talk about that nice hamburger you had, or that steak, or that piece of chicken you ate. Guess the procreation of animals for your personal consumption doesn't bother you, huh? more

Six of one, half dozen of the other 5/18/2009

Yes, their store is clean. Yes, they have the cutest puppies in town. But let's not fool ourselves. Pet Shop Puppies are still puppies that are raised by puppy mills and back yard breeders, and sold to brokers and shipped here from all over the country. If you want a small breed puppy find a reputable breeder in the area and stop giving these people business. more

A nice change! 11/14/2008

Good: Nice puppies.. Bad: Not a big supply place...just cutesy things.. Improvements: It would be nice if they did grooming.. more
