I recently went to the Poplar Inn with my husband and another couple. We walked in and the hostess greeted us immediately. The place is warm and inviting. There were lots of beautiful touches, like the ceiling mural and another mural in a hallway. We requested a seat by the window so we could watch the snowfall. They seated us right near a nice fireplace. We ordered the tenderloin in gorganzola sauce for an appetizer. It was delicious! Two of us had the veal biscayne and two had the tenderloin. It was oustanding, as good as any restaurants we've eaten at in South Beach and Vegas. Our service was also excellent. Since there was a snowstorm, they had alot of cancellations. The waitress was very attentive, but not overly so.
We just really enjoyed our experience. We sat there for about 2 1/2 hours and just enjoyed the ambiance, the food, and the service. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is pricey, but totally worth the experience!
