Really good pizza! Huge portions! They really pile on the toppings! Ive been going to this place for the past 15 years, still as good as ever!

Worst

I have been to The Pie too many times and received undercooked pizza. Its a super cool place to hang out. The pizza there just isn't my thing anymore.

I love the Pie. 4/5/2011

Any time I have any friends visit from out of town, I always take them to the Pie. Not only do they have delicious food, but the atmosphere and service is great! Sometimes there is a bit of a wait to get a pie, but never have I been so willing to sacrifice my time for food as I am when eating at the Pie. Love that Utah actually has a COOL place to eat. Love love love it. more

Yummy 12/24/2010

I am very fond of pizza and was a little worried when I moved from LA to Salt Lake. Happily, a friend told me about the Pie and now I'm addicted. The crusts and the ingredients make this pizza stop in in a zillion. I definitely recommend this joint! more

College pizza in abundance! 11/2/2010

It just smells like a happy belly! All these years in business, and the pizza still is heaping with quantity fresh ingredients and quality! I love the sandwiches too, and the jaunty college atmosphere! I feel like a kid again eating the ultimate cheezy comfort food, with a HQ root beer and pinball & those quaint red candles heating up the bottom of the pie! more

Heaviest Pizza I've Had 6/22/2008

I've visited The Pie in Salt Lake several times, and each time I leave I feel slightly sick from the amount of grease consumed. They put far too much cheese on each pizza and the sauce has a slightly chemical taste. HOWEVER, the pull aparts are great and it's a good place to get a beer and just chill. more

I love the cheese pull aparts they are so yummy and the pizza is the best in Salt Lake. Big portions and moderate priced. Attomsphere is fun and great location. Would recommend stoping by or getting delivered either way you can not go wrong!!! more

Great pizza 12/1/2007

Good service, great portions and yummy pizza. If you haven't tried this place yet, you need to take time to do it. It's nice to have a change from your regular pizza place. The pizza's are huge with lots of toppings, very tasty. They salads are great too. more

Best pizza in Salt Lake. 7/13/2006

The Pie Pizzeria at 1320 E. 200 South downstairs is the best pizza in Salt Lake City. Order the Pie Pizzeria pizza at this location only. They have an oven that is probably 25-30 years old and it does make a difference. The other Pie locations are good but this one is great and it's all in the oven. Pros: Best thin crust pizza in Salt Lake City. Cons: Long wait but worth it. more

Memorable Pizza! 6/15/2006

I won't get into whether it is the best or not but the whole experience is a worthwhile endeavor. I worked on campus for over 20 years and have been to The Pie many times. It definitly is one of the things I miss since moving to Florida. It is a one of a kind experience! I have rarely had seating problems but do wish that the sound on the TV's could be controlled. Awesome Pizza - great college atmosphere. It is very dark and everyone has signed the walls. It is worth the wait in line, especially after a day of skiing when you really want to carb load. Don't forget to order a ""cookie"" for desert - half baked chocolate chip cookie dough smothered in ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. YUMMY!!!! Sorry-I'm from NYC and this ain't pizza 3/31/2006

Pizza is fairly simple. Good crust, good cheese, good sauce. The Pie lacks all three. However, in an attempt to cover this up, they load on so much cheese they hope people do not notice the poor quality. This creates such an imbalance that it is basically inedible. But it seems this works because people here seem to love it. The basic pizza test: hold the pizza vertically- on a good slice of pizza, the cheese will not slide off. Try this on one of the Pie's slices. Fails miserably.If you are in SLC, check out Tommy Angelo's in Clearfield.Or John's pizza in NYC! That's pizza! more

Bottom Line: the Pizza is really good. Gourmet toppings are available (my fave is Chicken Artichoke Hearts Sundried Tomato). It has a lot of cheese and can make you feel sick, but in a good way. Pros: Toppings, Pizza Cons: Customer Service more

I reviewed this place shortly after we moved to SLC; about 6 months ago. The first time it was gross. We decided to give it a second chance, and it was great! The 3rd time was just as good as the second, so I guess the first time we went there was just an off night.. more

best pizza 11/8/2005

I have been to the pie at least 1/2 dozen times or more and have never had a bad pizza, and leftovers are great also. I have taken my kids and they love the pizza also, so I have no idea what those complaints are about unless they are angry people in the first place. Keep up the great pizza (Pie). Cons: parking, not enough seating more

Best Pizza Ever! 11/7/2005

I saw that this was rated one of the Best Pizza Places in the US. So, I had to try it when I visited SLC. Now, I am a big fan of pizza and I am always looking for the best pizza. We got a HUGE, I think it was 24 inch pizza. I myself am not a huge fan of sausage on pizza. I tend to go more towords the traditional pepperoni, but my family wanted sausage, so thats what we got. I LOVED thier sausage. It was the BEST sausage on a pizza I've ever had! This pizza was so good. It was thick and tasty...no cardboard here. I would definatly make a stop there again. I've recomended it to all my family members who frequent SLC. VERY GOOD PIZZA! I think some people just like to complain! The Pie... A Little Slice Of Heaven 6/6/2005

The Pie in SLC is one of the best, if not the best, pizza in the area. I have seen complaints of pies not being cooked enough. Try ordering the pie ""well done!"" There problem solved. I no longer live in SLC and miss The Pie. I have yet to find a pizza joint that comes close. I always stop in when back in the area. The pies are huge and well topped. The beer is cold and always refreshing. If there was a Zappi delevery service to Kansas, I would order all the time. Allthough the atmosphere is a lttle dark and crowded it always brings back fond memories of pizza, beer, football, and friends. Try the take-out service to avoid crowds and poor parking. Best Pizza in Utah 7/8/2004

This pizza compares with the best of L.A. Love the pizza, generous toppings: thick and fresh. Remarkable pizza considering the dark bar-like noisy basement hole location. The college crowd is lucky to have this place. The parking is difficult. UPDATE: Yes it is true, the calzones at Big Apple Pizza are vastly superior to the Zappis sold here.
