this place is hit or miss on service, and mostly miss. 4/5/2011

Go in expecting poor service, enjoy looking at the Alaska to South Puget Sound seafood history decorating the wall and your see-into table, and enjoy the adequate-to-delicious seafood offerings. more

The first time I was there, my dad took me for supper. It was about 1947. I ordered a steak and he ordered olympia oysters. Since I'd never had an oyster, i had to try one. I sent the steak back and had a plate of those puppys. I live in Spokane, so I've only been back a few times. The last time, my friend and I had two complete oyster dinners. It was heaven. I have since gone to Shelton and got several loads of them. Stay open, I'll be back. I'm hooked. more

Great seafood. Even better cole slaw. 9/29/2005

We stopped at The Oyster House after cross country flight and ate everything in sight. Both cod and chips and oysters and chips were terrific. Cole slaw with either raisins or currents was the best we've ever had. We tried to return on our way back to airport but two weeks had past and we couldn't remember where we were or how we found it. Now that we're home, I'm hoping they will give me their recipe for cole slaw so I can make it myself. Pros: Cole Slaw more

An Olympia Icon 8/20/2005

I remember going here as a kid for Olympia Oysters (an absolute delicacy) almost 50 years ago and was sad when I came back to town a few years past to find it closed. It is nice to have an old friend back and almost as good as it used to be. Like the 3 Crabs in Sequim, The Olympia Oyster House is a must when vivsiting the South Sound. Pros: Food, Location, History more

best seafood with a great view 7/19/2005

awesome food, been there probably 20 times, and have had many out of towners go there and love it too. Have only heard great things about the food and service from everyone I sent there. It's a good place to go for a business dinner, date, or with a group of friends. Pros: great staff, great food, great prices Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a more

We'll return soon 6/12/2004

We've eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. On our first visit we shared the Oyster House Feast (lobster tail, oysters rockefeller, skewered prawns, steamed snow crablegs, steamer clams, and boiled salmon and halibut). The seafood was fresh and expertly cooked. The second time I returned with a friend and we both had the crabcakes. Their texture was light and crispy and moist inside. Especially nice touch: they were light on the breading/fillers, so the cake was mostly crab. Am eager to return to sample their other offerings. Service and staff were friendly. Nice atmosphere. Pros: quality seafood more
