My hubby and I were very excited to go to Old Spaghetti Factory after hearing from so many people that it was great. We were greatly disappointed.
The service....
When we were seated, there was no silverware on our table. Our server brought us our salads and left. How does a server bring salads, put them on a table the size of my lap, and not notice we have no silverware?! My hubby and I sat there waiting for our server to come back to check on us, but he never did until he brought out our entrees. So even though we were hungry, we couldn't eat the salads in front of us since we had no silverware.
We needed some more bread about halfway through our meal and we asked our server for some. It took him so long to bring more out that we only had a couple bites of dinner left once we did receive it. I can understand if the kitchen is out of bread and is making more, but come back and tell me that, don't just leave me hanging!
The food...
I ordered the baked chicken. The chicken was on the bone. Every Italian restaurant I have ever been to serves boneless, skinless chicken breast. That's all I'll eat at home, too. Eating chicken off the bone is way too messy and time consuming for me. Plus the bones make the piece of chicken look bigger than it really is.
Hubby ordered the Meat Lover's Treat "for those with hearty appetites". The portion size was not as generous as expected. We're used to going out to eat, eating half the plate for dinner, and taking the other half home for lunch the next day. Not so with these portion sizes. We give the food a 6 overall. I could've made better at home. We will not be going back to this restaurant.
Pros: Cheap food, cool decor
Cons: Small portions, bad customer service, so-so food
