Absolutely THE BEST INDIAN BUFFET ever. I used to drive all the way down to the original location on Culver...

I did a booking for my wedding party for 18 people, first 5 people showed up, then more people came in to the restaurant for the buffet, then he was making anooying comment if fro...

very disappointed 1/1/2007

went here for the 8.95 lunch buffet and was very disappointed in both the selection and quality of the food...the palak paneer didn't have any paneer, the vegetable korma consisted of mostly mushrooms, the fish pakoras tasted like some kind of frozen fish fillet that was heavy with batter, the galub jamun was cold and was not saturated in syrup as i would have liked (it tasted more like a dried donut hole, rather than a milk ball), in general most of the food was not really warm enough for me and did not taste good....definitely would not recommend the lunch buffet. more

Worth a 30 mile drive 3/10/2006

I was on a project in Pasadena for the past 6 months -- a coworker (from Cerritos) recommended this restaurant. This is, without a doubt, one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at. The quality of food was outstanding (the lamb curry was incredibly lean which is a rarity) and the consistency of dishes remarkable. I *regularly* drove the 30+ miles to go to this restaurant. Pros: Quality ingredients, Consistency, value Cons: tacky interior, limited seating, limited parking more

Little gem in the heart of Little India 9/19/2005

Based on previous reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. We were glad we arrived when we did, because within 30 minutes every table was full. The food was outstanding as was the service. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The chicken tikka masala and the shrimp saag are must trys! Pros: food, price, service more

Best on Pioneer 1/19/2005

I live in Cerritos, and have visited Indian restaurants throughout Artesia and LA.... I must say the India Restaurant is among the best. Although a little too cozy, the restaurant is clean, service is friendly, and the food is great. The korma is some of the best i've ever had... Great choice, esp. if you live in the area. Pros: food, quality, service more

The Best North Indian Cuisine in Artesia 11/24/2004

Being of Indian origin myself, I've sampled just about every Indian restaurant on Pioneer Boulevard in "Little India". When it comes to authentic North Indian Cuisine, nothing else compares to The India Restaurant. The food is superb, particularly the Shahi Paneer and Navratan Korma. The previous reviewer sampled the lunch buffet which, while tasty and a good value, does not compare to the food you order off the menu, as it is over-neutralized for the stereotypical American palette. They have a great variety of dishes, an excellent selection for vegetarians and meat-eaters, the portions are generous, and the service is very good. Don't let the generic name fool you, this restaurant puts out some of the best-tasting Indian food I've ever had- it even compares to some of the finest restaurants I've sampled in India! Pros: Excellent Food, Generous Portions more

Curry story 2/6/2004

Along the run of ghee and curry that is Little India, The India Restaurant curls up secretly in a mini-mall, a classy mirrored decor within. Reflected off this, is the play of a somewhat crowded ambience, at its height, summoned in by belly for the buffet luncheon, of which I also took gustatory part. I have had better curries; but what is offered is passable, the shahi paneer, cheese in tomato sauce, cream and ginger probably the standout in this particular buffet row. There is a blissfully extensive wine list, even including Omar Khyyam champagne, perfect for a burst of Himalayan cool after the fire of spice. Pros: Extensive buffet, Wine list Cons: , Crowded more
