The Goddard School

I have only been taking my son to The Goddard School for three months but from the day I went to tour the facility, I knew it was the daycare facility for us. The staff is very friendly and I know the activities they do with him each day are already helping learn and grow - so much so that my husband and I already call it "school" rather than "daycare". I work with several other families who have been taking their children to The Goddard School for quite some time and it came highly recommended.\r \r The price of the daycare facility is quite a bit cheaper than other similar facilities I toured in the area. We did tour one facility that was about the same price but it didn't seem like they had any programs in the infant room - I felt like they would just be babysitting him rather than stimulating him and teaching him things each day. I love the staff and am very happy with The Goddard School. more

From day one I was impressed with the friendly staff and the warm atmosphere. When you are putting your children in the care of someone else for eight hours a day it is so important knowing that they are in a loving environment. Its also important to know that the teachers genuinely love children and have experience. My children are not only being well cared for they are also learning new things every day and being mentally and creatively stimulated. Everything is very clean, safe, and organized. Management is extremely helpful and informative; no matter what I have ever needed including any concerns. It is worth the extra money to send your children to a facility like this. I have recommended Goddard in Mechanicsburg to my friends and family and will continue to! more

My children have been going to the goddard school in mechanicsburg since they were both 6 weeks old and we have been extremely pleased with the quality of care at the school and the amount that both of my children have learned there. The factility is very clean, well managed and the staff loves absolutely the children! Everyone on the staff is always smiling and gives everyone a warm welcome when they arrive. In addition, we know a lot of families who have sent their kids to the school since they were infants as well. There is not a high turn over in kiddos or teachers. It is nice for the parents and the kids to have a consistant set of faces to greet them, take care of them and play with them every day. As far as the monthly tuition, you get what you pay for. If you want qualtiy care for your children then you need to pay the price. more

I am apalled by the other review left regarding The Goddard School on Ritter Road. The owner, assistant directors, and teachers are BEYOND fantastic. The school atmosphere is welcoming, caring and passion for kids is pervasive from room to room and adult to adult. I am not sure what kind of ""policies"" what upset an adult so much to write such a demeaning review. Could it be the policy of ""please have your child wear closed toed shoes to protect them as they run around? or please provide diapers, wipes and a lunch with drinks for your child each day? I know - maybe it is the policy of if your child is sick please keep them home. As a parent, I appreciate the policies because they are in place to keep my child healthy and safe. I appreciate the kindness and consideration of the whole staff, including the owner who always have a positive thing to say about my son. I appreciate the diversity of programs offered from yoga to sign language to Spanish to my son who is not quite 2 years old. This school and the teachers AND the owner are nothing short of amazing when it comes to putting the kids first (which as parents - shouldn't our kids well being come first?). They truly are passionate and that is priceless. Any parent considering sending their kids to the Goddard School on Ritter Road (trust me - not all have this same type of passion) are truly parents who care about their kids care and exposure to education. more

I toured this very expensive daycare center and wasn't impressed. The ratio of kids to adults is very high (still legal though). There was not enough to keep to babies happy and content to do. I just seemed stiff and during the 20 mintues we were there my 11 month old feel and got ingured in their care. I was also shocked at how hot they warmed the babies bottles to be. But you couldn't tell the teacher that. (She has no kids of her own just a degree. lol) This could be very bad for a breast feed baby as too hot kills the expressed milk. This place was just not for my family. more
