I ate at the Gingerbread house for my birthday about 20 years ago. Ever since I have been trying to replicate the amazing warm gingerbread/chocolate chip cookie they serve ala mo...

For the price of this place, you could go to a nice three-star San Francisco restaurant. The lemonade tasted like that cheap powder you mix with water, the jambalaya was mediocre ...

BEST SERVICE EVER 9/15/2002

Food is great! decor is fabulous. Ms Noel is best waitress/actress/busines person we ever encountered. We take lots of out of town guests there and are treated roaylly Pros: great service, great food, parking more

Bad food, good dessert 9/13/2002

The food was not what we expected. We heard this was the best soul food around, but I have had much better. The service was just okay. The cornbread was delicious, and so was the dessert. The experience was not good at all. Pros: good dessert Cons: bad location more

EXPENSIVE 7/2/2002

nothing to write home about. expensive...like CRAZY expensive for cheap stuff and just KINDA expensive for expensive stuff. I got the feeling they were jacking the prices after looking at our party. more

Bad Service 5/27/2002

Service is horribly bad. Too bad because food was rather good but totally lost our interest in food and the place the moment we met our waitress who obviously does not like her job at all. The other waitress all have that same look on their face too with the customer. Just because you food is great and there are lots of customers, if your service is bad you'll loose the business real fast Pros: Food, Parking Cons: Bad service more

  • In Short
Coming upon T.J.'s Gingerbread House is a bit like walking into a dilapidated fairytale. Candy-cane-striped posts and a horseless buggy decorate the front while the main room is done up in moss green and rose with stencils, a sloping ceiling and a unique skylight. Other buildings on site are opened up as dining rooms when needed and a staircase leading to more tempts diners to go off and explore on their own.
