DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. First of all the owner, Aisha is the rudest business owner I have ever known. She was so rude. I still cant comprehend why she is selling Groupons for 4 when she can't accommodate them. We had a group and she told us we could not book together and literally took weeks to get back to us each time. I would not recommend this place. Horrible to customers. I have seen so many stories the same as mine on FB. Got my Groupon bucks back. more

{Buyer Beware} A few of us ladies Bought Groupons and tried to schedule a class. I came to the conclusion that anytime I would try to book an appointment, If I said that I had a groupon... there was no room in any upcoming class. This confused me when I saw posts on this merchant's Facebook page offering several openings. After several attempts to contact the owner on this matter, a harsh email was sent to a member of my party containing profanity and a harassing tone. Then, the owner of The Funky Paintbrush posted the names of everyone in our party and their groupon #'s on her facebook... for all the world to see!!! Clearly this is a very unprofessional owner who, in my opinion, got in over her head with the whole Groupon thing and can not honor the overflow that it has created. I am not sure who the owner of this establishment is as I received a few emails from two different names. It seemed that the owner and her ""spokesperson"" were one in the same? Either way, this is a very unprofessional small business that I would NOT recommend to anyone. Too many loose ends, no professionalism, and way too many risks involved. more

DO NOT BUY!!!! Eight of us bought these vouchers and not one of us has been able to use them. I lady is rude rude rude...we have been trying to book our party for three months and she keeps saying they are full. Yet if you look at the her dates on her webpage they show open. She will not return our phone calls or emails. We will be getting our money back.....THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!! more

Most Rude Experience I have ever had. Took 4 days to get an email response about the class my Groupon group was interested in. Manager Aisha (whom i believe is also the owner) informed me she needed more information from my voucher. After re-sending my info I heard nothing for a day and a half additional. I called at 8 oclock the next night and asked if she had received my corrected email. She apologizes for the oversight and then all things go down hill from there. She refuses to book my entire group even though there are slots available on the night requested. She never sends my confirmation via email, though she confirms me over the phone twice. After calling a second time for my email she tells me since i asked for the owner to complain about the booking process she canceled my reservation but has scheduled the other half of my party in my place. What? After several calls she ends up hanging up on me and then writes me an email that I only complain to Groupon about the experience She ends the email by being rude, flinging character assaults, and telling me ""she has a low tolerance for my type"" . Buyer Beware Do Not Buy A Groupon To This Place. I have filed a complaint with Groupon and getting my money back! more

I purchased a groupon for 3. Had done the paintings before at a different place, but my friends were new. Horrible experience. Instructor kept looking at his phone and we were not told about all the blending. Not one painting in the place looked like the pic. I think his name was Jason. Will never go back and not reccomending to friends. Would love my money back, but I'm sure that won't happen! more

I also used a groupon to take 3 adult and 3 teenagers for an evening class. The instructor started by complaining that they had been thrown off by people arriving too early! Still started almost 30 minutes late. Next we chose our colors for the flowers we were painting. We were given the standard colors or could chose our own. The teenagers went with some variations and were assured the instructor would tell them how to adjust for the variations. He didn't. Also, there was not a sample of the finished painting for us to look at. Overall, it was an OK experience, but we won't be repeating it or recommending it. No warmth or enthusiasm from any of the three employees there. more

Snippy and unhelpful 1/21/2012

I purchased two Groupons to use for me and my kids. I called at the beginning of Dec before they expired and was assured I could use them through Feb for the Mommy and Me classes. I called 4 times since the beginning of Jan and left two messages, I finally sent an email and got a call back today. The lady was unpleasant and informed me that the Groupon is only valid until Feb 1st and all the Mommy and Me classes are full. There are limited adult classes open, none of which I can do. Extremely disappointed and won't be taking my business there. I've also requested a refund from Groupon. more

Good Time for myself and my 5 year ols 1/7/2012

I have gone here with a group of my friends and I have taken my 5 year old there for a class. Me and my friends did the Owl and they all came out great. The instructor was very helpful and we all had a ball.\r When I brought my 5 year old she did a Christmas tree with a bird decorating the tree with ornaments, The instructor was ecellent. He was very helpful and my daughter was so proud of her painting. \r Both of my experiences were very positive. more

I had a great experience here with 3 friends Sat. Night. I was hesistant to go because I had tried one in Decatur last yr. and didn't like the paintings. The instructor was helpful and walked around regularly to help everyone. If you are considering an outting check it out! more

We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was less than joyful. We strive in providing excellent customer service at all times. However, it's hard when some customers come in late and decide to paint something different than what is scheduled. As a paying customer, you can paint whatever you choose but please remember there will be limited guidance. We plan our classes according to how many people are registered and what they plan on doing. So if we only have one instructor, it poses a problem to give unlimited guidance.We offer ""open"" studio to allow customers to paint what they want and still have the guidance they will need. Perhaps next time you should come to one of those classes. Again we apologize for the inconvenience. more

Never any instruction.... 8/11/2011

Worst experience that I every had. There was no step-by-step instruction. The person who took my money said that I could choose a picture. After I sat down (thinking I was going to be instructed) I was left alone and talked to 10 minutes out of two hours. It was more like I was told to look at the picture and copy it...there was never ANY instruction. I tried to question the person about what I was suppose to do but it seemed like he was ignoring me. After awhile I finally came to terms that he was never going to give me any guidance and I just wasted my money and time. I left and am never going to go back to that place. I really wanted to learn how to paint something...or at least one good technique. Trust me...do not go here! Find someplace...anyplace else. more

Not a place for Kids 7/13/2011

We are very disappointed with Funky Paintbrush with regard to their Kids Camp - we can't speak about their other classes. We purchased 2 Groupons for our kids to go to their Kiddie Camp. My kids went this morning and the teacher was impatient, yelling, visibly frustrated and not trying to hide it at all. She wasn't the least bit engaging through the whole process! It may be a fine place for adults, but if you can't handle kids, don't have kids programs. Very disappointed and won't return at all. more

Best Place for Painting Fun 9/18/2010

I've had such geat fun at the Funky Painbrush over the last year. It is a wonderful place to be able to go and express your creative side. The staff have always been very helpful and have never let me leave with a bad painting. They are always upbeat and encouraging. Also, if you do feel that you want to work a little more on your painting, Aisha always encourages you to come back with the painting and the staff will help you.\r I've had several unhappy experiences at another painting place where the instructor offered no help and not enough time was allowed for the type of painting being done.\r One of the best things about Funky Paintbrush is how they encourage children. My grandaughter has painted about 8 to 10 paintings with them and has developed a passion for painting. They have always been positive with her.\r It is always fun to see everyones painting at the end of class and how each person's personality comes out in their painting..The staff do a wonderful job of getting the best out of everyone even though they are helping many people at the same time.\r I'll definitely keep going back and I'll keep taking my grandaughter. more

Fun place for everyone 9/15/2010

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Funky Paintbrush. It was a relaxed atmosphere and the people were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this for ""Girl's Nite Out"" a ""Mother Daughter bonding time"" or just a night out with a glass of wine and express yourself on canvas. It was awesome and I have already picked out the next class I want to attend. more

Tons of Fun! 9/15/2010

My friend and I went to the Funky Paintbrush to celebrate her birthday. We had the best time. Though I usually paint with three year olds at a preschool, I found that I could actually paint! The instructors were extremely helpful and walked us through step by step while still allowing for artistic license. Who knew that I could paint something and everyone be able to identify the object?! I am looking forward to my next visit! more

Extraordinary FUN!! 9/15/2010

Amazing experience! Im like so hooked! Ive been to the funky paintbrush 3 times now! each time ive had a different instructor & each one was so kind, patient, informative & sweet! The owner is beautiful sweet too! I adore her and hope she always keeps this place alive & open! Me and my daughter love to go together and weve noticed this... something could be on our minds like maybe some kind of stress or worry or in my daughters case - a crush on a boy at school.. we get painting and seriously for those few hours nothing else exists but us & the canvas! Its so awesome and theraputic!!! I cant say enough about it! The most positive experience ever! more

So much FUN!!!!! 9/13/2010

I had so much fun this weekend at The Funky Paintbrush! Even though I don't consider myself an artist I was pretty impressed with my work of art. It was fun to relax and create something beautiful without feeling any pressure. The staff was so helpful and encouraging. They were willing to offer suggestions, but still made sure that I was the one making the decisions and creating the art. Everyone's painting was different and beautiful. I didn't even feel the need to compare mine to the others. I will definitely go back. It's a great place for a girl's night out. And guys...it would be a fabulous place for a date night. Take some snacks and a bottle of wine and have a great time! more

Fabulous experience!! 9/12/2010

I had the best time at The Funky Paintbrush last night! I went with 2 friends for a Girls Night Out. I was a bit apprehensive going into it, I really wanted my painting to turn out, and I have very little artistic ability! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It did not feel like a classroom at all, just a bunch of friends having a good time. They take you step by step through the painting and are there to help if you have any questions. I am thrilled with the painting I produced, but even more excited about how much fun it was to create. I was given a punch card after arriving, and thought, sure this may be fun....but I don't think its something I'd want to do often. I was SO wrong!! I'm ready to go back today! I highly recommend everyone try it once. I know I will definitely be going back, soon! :) more

You just bring yourself and your sense of adventure and our skilled instructors will take you on a creative journey. The instructor will lead the class step by step.
