I had a great experience here with 3 friends Sat. Night. I was hesistant to go because I had tried one in Decatur last yr. and didn't like the paintings. The instructor was help...

Worst

I purchased two Groupons to use for me and my kids. I called at the beginning of Dec before they expired and was assured I could use them through Feb for the Mommy and Me classes....

Snippy and unhelpful 1/21/2012

I purchased two Groupons to use for me and my kids. I called at the beginning of Dec before they expired and was assured I could use them through Feb for the Mommy and Me classes. I called 4 times since the beginning of Jan and left two messages, I finally sent an email and got a call back today. The lady was unpleasant and informed me that the Groupon is only valid until Feb 1st and all the Mommy and Me classes are full. There are limited adult classes open, none of which I can do. Extremely disappointed and won't be taking my business there. I've also requested a refund from Groupon. more

Good Time for myself and my 5 year ols 1/7/2012

I have gone here with a group of my friends and I have taken my 5 year old there for a class. Me and my friends did the Owl and they all came out great. The instructor was very helpful and we all had a ball. When I brought my 5 year old she did a Christmas tree with a bird decorating the tree with ornaments, The instructor was ecellent. He was very helpful and my daughter was so proud of her painting. Both of my experiences were very positive. more

Great Painting at the Funky Paintbrush 8/28/2011

We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was less than joyful. We strive in providing excellent customer service at all times. However, it's hard when some customers come in late and decide to paint something different than what is scheduled. As a paying customer, you can paint whatever you choose but please remember there will be limited guidance. We plan our classes according to how many people are registered and what they plan on doing. So if we only have one instructor, it poses a problem to give unlimited guidance.We offer "open" studio to allow customers to paint what they want and still have the guidance they will need. Perhaps next time you should come to one of those classes. Again we apologize for the inconvenience. more

Horrible Experience! Never Going Back. 8/14/2011

The Funky Paintbrush was the worse experience I’ve ever had as a group outing. The instructors were rude, snobby, and clearly unknowledgeable. They were annoyed when I asked how to paint and their “instruction” was “now paint a tree there” or “just copy the picture” then they walked away. When I asked a question they gave one word replies or ignored them all together. It got even worse as they whispered things to each other glancing over and laughing at my painting. I was horrified at how I was being treated and felt awful. I just wanted it over, but tried to finish the picture. I needed more paint and the kicker came when one instructor told the other to ignore me. The people I was with that heard them were shocked. I had enough and walked out. I will never return and have told everybody I know what a horrible experience I had with The Funky Paintbrush in Woodstock. more

Never any instruction.... 8/11/2011

Worst experience that I every had. There was no step-by-step instruction. The person who took my money said that I could choose a picture. After I sat down (thinking I was going to be instructed) I was left alone and talked to 10 minutes out of two hours. It was more like I was told to look at the picture and copy it...there was never ANY instruction. I tried to question the person about what I was suppose to do but it seemed like he was ignoring me. After awhile I finally came to terms that he was never going to give me any guidance and I just wasted my money and time. I left and am never going to go back to that place. I really wanted to learn how to paint something...or at least one good technique. Trust me...do not go here! Find someplace...anyplace else. more

Not a place for Kids 7/13/2011

We are very disappointed with Funky Paintbrush with regard to their Kids Camp - we can't speak about their other classes. We purchased 2 Groupons for our kids to go to their Kiddie Camp. My kids went this morning and the teacher was impatient, yelling, visibly frustrated and not trying to hide it at all. She wasn't the least bit engaging through the whole process! It may be a fine place for adults, but if you can't handle kids, don't have kids programs. Very disappointed and won't return at all. more

Best Place for Painting Fun 9/18/2010

I've had such geat fun at the Funky Painbrush over the last year. It is a wonderful place to be able to go and express your creative side. The staff have always been very helpful and have never let me leave with a bad painting. They are always upbeat and encouraging. Also, if you do feel that you want to work a little more on your painting, Aisha always encourages you to come back with the painting and the staff will help you. I've had several unhappy experiences at another painting place where the instructor offered no help and not enough time was allowed for the type of painting being done. One of the best things about Funky Paintbrush is how they encourage children. My grandaughter has painted about 8 to 10 paintings with them and has developed a passion for painting. They have always been positive with her. It is always fun to see everyones painting at the end of class and how each person's personality comes out in their painting..The staff do a wonderful job of getting the best out of everyone even though they are helping many people at the same time. I'll definitely keep going back and I'll keep taking my grandaughter. more

Fun place for everyone 9/15/2010

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Funky Paintbrush. It was a relaxed atmosphere and the people were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this for "Girl's Nite Out" a "Mother Daughter bonding time" or just a night out with a glass of wine and express yourself on canvas. It was awesome and I have already picked out the next class I want to attend. more

Tons of Fun! 9/15/2010

My friend and I went to the Funky Paintbrush to celebrate her birthday. We had the best time. Though I usually paint with three year olds at a preschool, I found that I could actually paint! The instructors were extremely helpful and walked us through step by step while still allowing for artistic license. Who knew that I could paint something and everyone be able to identify the object?! I am looking forward to my next visit! more

Extraordinary FUN!! 9/15/2010

Amazing experience! Im like so hooked! Ive been to the funky paintbrush 3 times now! each time ive had a different instructor & each one was so kind, patient, informative & sweet! The owner is beautiful sweet too! I adore her and hope she always keeps this place alive & open! Me and my daughter love to go together and weve noticed this... something could be on our minds like maybe some kind of stress or worry or in my daughters case - a crush on a boy at school.. we get painting and seriously for those few hours nothing else exists but us & the canvas! Its so awesome and theraputic!!! I cant say enough about it! The most positive experience ever! more

So much FUN!!!!! 9/13/2010

I had so much fun this weekend at The Funky Paintbrush! Even though I don't consider myself an artist I was pretty impressed with my work of art. It was fun to relax and create something beautiful without feeling any pressure. The staff was so helpful and encouraging. They were willing to offer suggestions, but still made sure that I was the one making the decisions and creating the art. Everyone's painting was different and beautiful. I didn't even feel the need to compare mine to the others. I will definitely go back. It's a great place for a girl's night out. And guys...it would be a fabulous place for a date night. Take some snacks and a bottle of wine and have a great time! more

Fabulous experience!! 9/12/2010

I had the best time at The Funky Paintbrush last night! I went with 2 friends for a Girls Night Out. I was a bit apprehensive going into it, I really wanted my painting to turn out, and I have very little artistic ability! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It did not feel like a classroom at all, just a bunch of friends having a good time. They take you step by step through the painting and are there to help if you have any questions. I am thrilled with the painting I produced, but even more excited about how much fun it was to create. I was given a punch card after arriving, and thought, sure this may be fun....but I don't think its something I'd want to do often. I was SO wrong!! I'm ready to go back today! I highly recommend everyone try it once. I know I will definitely be going back, soon! :) more

GREAT GIRLS NIGHT OUT! 9/12/2010

My friends and I had SO much fun at The Funky Paintbrush for our Girls Night Out. The staff were awesome. I felt no pressure from them whatsoever; they encouraged us to make the painting what we wanted it to be. They were not at all judgemental and gave helpful suggestions when needed. I can't think of anything negative about the place. I will DEFINATELY be returning. I must say I was pretty proud of myself and the paiting I created. :) more

AMAZING! 8/29/2010

My friends and I absolutely LOVE The Funky Paintbrush. We have tried both Sips N Strokes and Cocktails and Canvas and neither of them compare. The people who run it are truly amazing. They are all people who you'd really want to just hang out with. They make the environment warm and welcoming and, as a patron, you feel more like you're hanging out with friends than being present in a class. I LOVE IT! more

Great painting experience for kids 8/19/2010

My daughter is 12 years old and has always enjoyed art. She wanted to learn to draw and paint faces. She's had many one on one classes with different teachers and within a short time she has learned so much and improved so so much. All the teachers are very patient with explaining what to do next and why. She enjoys all the teachers and learns something different from each one which is making her a better artist. My son is 8 years old and he has taken group classes and one on one classes and enjoys every class he attends. Funky Paintbrush is a must for you to try out! more

Great way to spend an evening 8/4/2010

My wife and I had a great time at the funky paintbrush. I could not believe that someone like me, who considers stick figures to be a challenge, can actually learn how to paint. The funky paintbrush has something for every "painting level". It was so relaxing and we enjoyed drinking wine and eating cheese while the instructor walked us through the different stages of painting. I would recommend this location to families, couples and groups. If you want to have fun and take a painting home instead of just a full belly, you need to go to the funky paintbrush. more

OMG- FUN! 7/28/2010

Just left the Funky Paintbrush- it was awesome! I took my 10 year old daughter and her friend- great fun for kids and adults. We didn't want to paint the featured art for the evening, so we were treated to a private session in one of their large party rooms. After being set up with a large canvas and easel, the owner, Aiysha, proceeded to walk us through each phase of the painting. She was very friendly and patient with the girls. There was a large group of people in the main room painting the featured painting, again being led step by step by the instructor, and from the sound of the laughter, they were enjoying themselves too. Their paintings were as great as ours turned out- and each one unique to the artist. What a great way to spend the evening! I immediately signed up for their email and class list and look forward to going back soon! It will be a must for birthday parties, girls night and a great place to take out of town guests. I was very impressed with their organization, set-up and extreme concern for the enjoyment and comfort of their customers. Highly recommend!!!! Pros: Great place to take friends, kids, anyone more
