The Fish in West Village was an appreciated breath of fresh air, a tasty and new way to satisfy my cravings for some respectable sushi. The food was so creative, fun, and delicious. The scallops that are seared to perfection and topped with a burre blanc sauce were ridiculously savory. The sashimi was probably the strength of the meal, very fresh, very beautifully presented. Super Toro is second to no one. The Aji Seto, mackerel to my understanding, was a very clean taste with a nice hint of ginger. The mackeral was my favorite; I had never had anything like it. The service is very inviting, warming, and attentive to the intangibles i.e. carrying my drink from the bar to my table. Far from a stiff vibe from the staff. Sensual atmosphere and attractive decor. The Fish is complete (except u guys need a damn sign!). Definite future for this type of place!
Pros: Food, service, ambiance, valet.
Cons: Signage for the place and to the restroom.
