The absolute worst front desk staff I have ever dealt with, they were rude beyond belief. No smiles, not friendly and probably all wish they were somewhere else. After the rude re...

The Drake 9/28/2007

I seem to stay at The Drake during nice weather days only. It is on the South end Of Michigan Ave, and a short way onto one of my favorite running routes: Lake Michigan. It seems to be authentic. It is, however, now the Hilton Drake, which could be an ominous sign for any vestige of uniqueness. The ambiance is striking in a refined traditional manor. A woman was playing the harp in the bar, which is nice The rooms are decent, but you are paying for location. If it is freezing cold outside stay at The House of Blues. more

Beautiful Structure 5/27/2006

This old hotel is one of the landmarks in Chicago. The building is very old and adds to the flavor of the city of Chicago. You will be able to spot this aging building from Lake Shore Drive. Though I have not stayed here as a guest, I have been here for a wedding and it was a beautiful place. The enterance and lobby of this hotel is magnificant and unforgetable. The banquet hall was beautiful as well, with very pretty tables and chairs. The food was okay; I didn't find anything too special about it. But the service was excellent and the whole experience was wonderful. more

This old hotel is one of famous place in Chicago. The rooms they have a not as modern as Hyatt for example, even though their rate can be similar. They have fruit in every floor by the elevator for their guess, I think it's kind of neat. The location is very special, right in the magnificent mile and just step away from the oak street where there are a lot of good store. more

High Tea 1/15/2006

I went for high tea here a while back with a bunch of friends. It is definitely an experience to have at some point (especially if you are visiting Chicago). You get to choose from a bunch of different teas, finger sandwhiches, scones, and pastries. At about $35 per person, its quite expensive for a simple afternoon tea, but the entire experience is really amazing. The atmosphere, service, and ambiance are really amazing and it makes for a very relaxing, yet elegant occassion. And of course the beautiful harp adds a very elegant touch to the nice afternoon. They do not take reservations. more
