The Dog Spa

I have a 14 lb. Schnoodle (half poodle/half schnauzer), and we went to countless groomers before checking out The Dog Spa. The first time we went in, the owner spent about 10 minutes talking to me about the haircut that I was wanting Charlie to receive. While we were talking, she was letting him walk around behind the counter and sniff out the place. Normally when I leave him, he cries and cries but this time, he was playing with her and didn't even notice. She called me halfway through the appointment to explain why it was taking so long (he has knotted hair next to his skin). When I returned, she talked to me about ways to prevent that from happening. Ever since then, he literally gets excited every time we go into the shop. You can really tell that they love what they do. more

The Dog Spa is a great grooming shop. The groomers are very helpful and knowledgeable. When I took my dog there I spoke with new owner Cathy and she spent a lot of time with me talking about my dog and makin sure they knew exactaly what I wanted. Cathy said she bought the shop from the old owner back in April and the business is really doing well. The shop is large and clean and all the groomers were really sweet to my dog. They got her haircut exactally right and she looked great. I like that they didn't keep her there all day too, she was only there for a couple hours. I really felt like they took good care of her while she was there and little Bella seemed to enjoy all the attention. I was worried because Bella can be pretty wiggly but they said she did great. When I asked if she was a problem they said no and that they are always honest about that and they will always tell you the truth even if your dog was bad because that way pet owners can get help for the pets behavior problems or try to work on some of the problems at home. They said Bella was pulling away from having her nails trimmed and we could work on rubbing her feet at home so she will learn to be more accepting of it. I thought that was a great idea I had never thought to do that. We plan on going back in a few weeks we were very happy with the dog spa. Pros: very good haircut,nice experienced groomers more

I have shih-tzu and I took him to this so called ""dog spa"" for a simple grooming and bath. Well, originally they told me it would take 2 hours or more before they were done, well after 1 1/2 hours they call to let me know they are done--which would have been a good thing but read on... When I go to pick up my dog, the first thing I am greeted with after asking for my dog is ""Next time you bring him in, he will need to be sadated"". WHAT!!!!!!!! IT A GROOMER FOR GOODNESS SAKE! The so called ""manager"" claimed that my dog jumped like a ""bucking bronco"" and tried to bite their groomer--funny that my dog has never bitten anyone before and this was his 2nd visit to them and nothing was ever said to me about any of this on the first visit. When they brought my dog out, the only thing that was done to him was a bath, nails were not trimmed and hair was not cut/trimmed. They made me pay the full price anyways!!! Really, I should have walked out because of their rude, dumb, and incompentent staff. more
