The Dog House is where you would play if you were a dog 10/21/2011

My 2 Goldens start crying the minute we turn on Santa Fe because we are just minutes from their favorite place in all of Denver, including Chatfield where they can swim all day.\r \r The staff at the Dog house is just the greatest. You can tell they love your canine child because the dogs hate to leave. They get to know your dog's personality and tell you about their antics at the end of the day.\r The owner, Jeff, is so open to working with your dog so he can have a great day. I have been taking my canine children to doggie day cares for the last 20 years. I have taken my canine children to these day cares in Seattle, Kansas City, and Grand Rapids. Though I never plan to leave Denver, I would hesitate even more because I would hate to leave the Dog house. It is convenient to get to and whenever I drop my pups off and pick them up, I get happy because their is so much happiness at this place. It is one of the best places in Denver for your pups. I told my pup, Jessie, today: I wish I had friends like this Jessie. It is amazing how the dogs all get along so beautifully. I think it is because it is their nature and because the staff love them so much and there are so many fun things to do while there: swimming, tunnels, resting, and more!!!! it makes me wish I were a dog...so I could go to the dog house.... and play, play PLAY! and have FUN!!!! more

Best Doggie Daycare/Boarding Facility in Denver 12/9/2009

I have been taking my dogs to Bg's/The Doghouse for almost 5 years. Jeff, (the owner...who I'm guessing several others have referred to in their reviews) is VERY nice and loves dogs. I have been there more times than I can count for both daycare and boarding and I have NEVER seen him (or anyone else) mistreat employees or dogs there. To be honest, Jeff seemed a bit shy to me at first and I can't imagine him ever being mean to everyone. He's always remembered me and my dogs and has always been nothing but nice to us.\r \r They have a fantastic play area for the dogs where they can come and go inside and outside as they please, with tunnels and a pool to play in...it's the best play space I've ever seen at a daycare facility - and it's HUGE! They also have 10 video cameras throughout the center where you can go to their website and watch your dogs play all day if you choose...it's pretty funny to watch them all run around and play! You get more bang for your buck than any of the other places I've taken my dogs to daycare.\r \r The boarding there is great because the dogs are put in the kennels only to sleep. The rest of the time the dogs in boarding are out playing with the daycare dogs during their business hours. Most everywhere else either charges extra for ""playtime"" or they just leave the dogs in the kennels the entire time they are there. AND, their boarding is cheaper than anywhere else I've found...so the dogs don't miss you as much and have fun and you save money...why wouldn't you take your dogs here?!\r \r The staff there truly care about dogs and give everyone's dogs the same level of fantastic care as their own. Many of the employees have there dogs there for daycare with them!\r \r All this to say - they are the BEST doggie daycare and boarding facility I've ever been to and I especially love that they're a family business rather than a corporate owned facility. \r Pros: Huge play facility, family owned, inexpensive, friendly staf more

Creepy Dog Dude 1/23/2008

I took my dog here over a ski weekend. They were $10 cheaper a day than the place close to my house. However, the guy working there is a creepy mean dude. I am not going back. Their lower prices are not work having some control freak employee abuser snap at me. Who knows what he does to the dogs, probably abuses them, kicks them, who knows. Why take a chance. Pros: Cheaper Boarding Cons: Control Freak Works Here more

Go Elsewhere 1/3/2008

I had a negative experience here. I took my labrador here for a multiple day overnight stay and found the man behind the counter to be quite rude. He was angry that I had not labeled every can of dog food (I did not know this was a requirement). He could have asked me nicely to do this next time around instead of acting like I was making his life difficult. Also, I witnessed him mistreating the nice young girl who worked there, raising his voice to her to do tasks as she was trying to check me in. My dog who is usually playful and content had a look of terror on his face when I left him. When I picked him up a week later, his paws had rashes on them and I'm guessing that whatever cleanser they use on their floor irritated his skin. I would not recommend this place. Instead, I have had positive experiences at Camp Bow Wow and Pooches Palace and would recommend either of those. Cons: Dog came home with irritated paws, Customer Service is poor more

Unfriendly Scary Man Working Here 1/3/2008

I have a dog that has gone to daycare places and kennels around the country and I have found the large majority of them to be staffed with super-friendly dog-loving people. This place however is an exception. The young women who work there are nice. But there is a 40-something man who works here, not sure if he's the owner or a manager, who is extremely rude, confrontational, and unpleasant. He barked at me and my husband several times when we dropped off our dog for a one-week stay around the holidays. We are extremely nice people so this was completely uncalled for. We were both sugary sweet back because we didn't want him to abuse our dog. If it wasn't the holidays (with everything being booked up) I would have found an alternate place, even if it meant having to get on a later flight. My husband and I were extremely concerned about the bad energy of this place and will never go back. We got our dog unharmed but I'd far prefer to take her to one of the many doggie daycares / kennels where the workers give out a warm fuzzie vibe rather than an intensely mean one. Pros: For us, location Cons: Bad Vibe, Mean Guy more
