This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Canal Street, just steps away from Bourbon Street. The rooms are huge and beautiful, and the service is spectacular.

The SceneThe stunning entryway, adorned with draped chandeliers, bubbling fountains and classic marble is almost intimidating, but the friendly staff is quick with welcoming smiles, addressing guests as "Miss" or "Mr." Waiting areas feature water and juices and a plethora of padded chairs and chaise lounges, where the mix of hotel guests clad in comfortable terry-cloth robes are easily distinguished from other tourists and special-occasion-celebrating locals in spongy cotton. The small dry sauna is only medium hot, but the steam room achieves temperature nirvana and filters in plentiful eucalyptus. The ServicesBody treatments are luxuriously conducted in plush private rooms, while rushed manicures and pedicures are accommodated in one communal area. Facials combine a number of rejuvenating techniques, though sometimes skip extractions. The unique Masquerade Facial involves the application of a thick hardening clay--if performed correctly, the mauve-colored mask is removed whole and taken home as a souvenir. The DetailsSteam room, dry sauna.
