We started bringing our dog to the Canine Club about a year ago periodically for doggie day care. For months we were more than impressed with the facility and the staff, until the last few months when the owner, Karen became more visible. Not sure if she has always been involved and we had just never seen her, or if she is now a bigger part of the club, but she needs to go away. My husband and I have each, on separate occasions been treated like dirt by her. And even worse, some friends that we referred to the place have reported the same treatment. First it started with needing to call to book daycare days in advance, which wouldn't be a problem, except they never answer the phone anymore and it takes them sometimes more than a day to even return your call. Then one day while dropping our dog off as I handed his food to the gal at the desk, she looked at me with a blank stare and said ""dogs don't eat"", I said excuse me? She repeated ""dogs don't eat"" there's no need for us to take the food. Well, that was news to me that we've always brought food and the dish was always empty when we picked him up, so could she please take the food and give it a try. Again she, very rudely, told me that ""dogs don't eat"" and so they wouldn't take the food. I was amazed at the treatment I was getting simply for bringing food for my dog, something we had done dozens of times before. Especially when their website clearly states that feeding is included in all pet stays. The next week my husband did the dropping off and again tried to bring the food and got the same rude response. We eventually came to discover that this rude staff member was in fact the owner. When we relayed our story to our friends that we had referred over they told us they had started to have the same kind of poor service and rude treatment, by the same woman. We are devestated to have come to the point where we cannot imagine bringing our beloved dog back to a place where the OWNER treats her customers this way, imagine how she must run a business, much less treat the animals. It's a shame because the facility is top of line, big open space with lots of things for the dogs to do. There are plenty of other respectable business owners that are much more deserving of our business.
