Reinvention of the Brown Bag Lunch 12/3/2002

There are very few sandwich shops which can compare with this one. With fresh and high-quality ingredients as the base layer, innovative use of these ingredients creates a delicious finishing touch. The friendly and casual atmosphere is most inviting, making this a wonderful neighborhood lunch spot. more

hidden gem 12/3/2002

Stumbled along this place and was quite surprised at how good the sandwiches are. I've gone back quite a few times, my favorites are the BLT and the Grinder. Really like the coffee too. Maddie more

Fresh and Tasty 12/2/2002

I had the pleasure of dining at The Brooklyn Grinder a short time ago. I especially enjoyed the Tomato Bisque. It tasted very fresh and was full of flavor. The sanwiches are large and prices are reasonable. Since the dining area is small, I would recommend take-out. more

I don't miss South Carolina anymore. 11/27/2002

The menu only has 8 hot and 7 cold sandwiches, but I always get two. So there are actually 15*14/2 = 105 different meals available to me. Sandwiches average 4""x6""x1.5""; I get two because I am hungry enough for two detailed, original sandwiches and their accompanying Sue's Potato Salad. There is a full range of soups, salads, grains, and coffees, but I do not care; what keeps impressing me is the personal service. When I ask about a sandwich, the man gives me more description, even telling me how he likes to prepare it. He runs to the back and fixes me one, and pretty soon he is out front again handing me a brown bag that I know contains just what he described. It is about $12 for my BIG takeout meals. While this is a bit steep to me, I eat there; and I keep on eating there. Pros: Personal & personable, Vegetarian food too, REUBEN Cons: They STILL forget my, pickles whenever I, get takeout.. more

great eats ! 10/15/2002

I ordered the California club wrap that was awesome ! The ingredients were very fresh and tasty. The smoked chicken, fresh avocado, bacon and all the fixins just hit the spot with the sour cream dressing and the sun dried tomato tortilla. Just thinking about it makes me believe I will be stopping by again soon. Pros: very fresh ingredents, friendly more
