THE BEST PLACE EVER!!! 4/26/2008

this restaurant is AMAZING. Executive Chef James isn't there anymore, I guess he opened up his own place??, but the chefs that are there are just as good! I was served by a man named Kozo or Koso, something like that, but he's just as good as James! He was highly entertaining and kept my group laughing all night. I even bought him a beer! He recommended the best choices and even made some things that I havent heard of! I DEFINATELY recommend him he was EXCEPTIONAL!!! Other than that the food is great, the seating it good, and the people are great. I would definately stop by again. Pros: Chef Koso Cons: NOTHING more

Off the Hook ( no pun intended) 4/27/2007

This place is rockin' lunchtime it is slammed for good reason, the service is great fast and efficient. The food what can I say???!!! I hate to go in there during my lunch break because I want to keep on eating! The food is always fresh and tasty. If you want a different feel for the place go in for dinner my recommendations, James Hamamori is worth the wait. As the Executive Chef he is the Master, he has served me dishes that I have not seen before and his style and charisma is of the hook! The first time that you meet him, you will think that you have known him all you life. All of the sushi chefs have a great time with the customers and each other. I have always had an awesome experience there, and I continue to go back for more. I plan on visitig their new restaurant that recently opened in Lake Forest off of El Toro Rd. I'm sure that it is like all of the Wasa's Great time and Great food as expected! more

Artisinal Sushi Creations for Discerning Gourmands 4/26/2007

When i first discovered Wasa in the Tustin Marketplace i was truly happy but when i asked where the executive chef was and was told that he works the sushi bar at this location i had to try it. My friend recommended that i sit at the sushi bar and just let the chef do his Omakase thing, which is a custom made tasting menu. it was the best I've had for as long as i can remember. he made dishes that weren't on the menu but deserve to be. i had to buy a round for James (the chef) and he told me about yet another restaurant project named after him, ""HAMAMORI."" it's supposed to be an exclusive, high-end, fine dining Japanese sushi restaurant so I'm definitely gonna try it. in the mean time I'm gonna make my rounds to each of the Wasa stores and get my weekly fix of Omega-3's from Toro & Salmon sushi. Pros: Executive Chef Hamamori Cons: small space... but very intimate more

Awesome! 4/18/2007

This place rocks! Believe it or not this place is one of the best sushi spots I've ever been to! my only complaint is that it's too small of a space. :( Unless i go uber early, i almost always have to wait for a table... but it's still worth it. My favorite thing to do is sit at the sushi bar and let the sushi chef take over. They'll serve off the menu specials and some seriously amazing food... very surprising for a small indiscreet shopping center sushi joint. Kudos nevertheless! Pros: food food food food food food food food food food food!!!!! Cons: no reservations more

Best Fusion Sushi in NB 10/1/2006

Since the opening of Wasa it's been packed. I remember seeing Tiger Wood's wife Elin there enjoying the Fresh Fish. Don't miss Chef James Specials. Pros: Great Specials Cons: Parking is tight so come early more
