a great place to hang 4/30/2012

the bat cave is a great place to hang outwith friends and family. the atmosphere is great and, as the signs say in the store,'this is a PG environment , please watch your language!"" sure the conversation may be a bit weird and off putting but it's always in good humor. i love to sit on the couch and watch bad movies, play with the store cat, and play board games that even the owner gets in on1 more

Amazing hang out spot 4/16/2012

I've only shopped at two comic stores in my life, and although I love Excalibur, I have to say, I've had a lot of good times at Batcave. The staff is helpful. There's never pressure to buy something I'm unsure about. They watch nerdy movies like Return of the Kung Fu Dragon, and make me feel welcome. If you're ever unsatisfied with a purchase (which almost never happens), just talk to them about it. They're pretty reasonable. more

The Bat Cave Is The Bomb 4/16/2012

As the father of one of the principles at the Bat Cave, I can say that the whole operation seems very inviting, warm, friendly, holsom, and an overall comfortable place to hang out. Those who enjoy games and others to join in with their common interest might want to check it out. As for the way the business end is run I can not speak to, since I have never purchased an item, and have not dealt with them over the internet or by mail. All business can learn to service their customers better, and with young men of intergrity like Alex Huey and those who I have met there should be no problem that a customer might have that could not be resolved in the customer's favor. After all...""A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than siver and gold."" Proverbs 22:1 more

No Service/Distasteful conversation 2/20/2012

I looked up local card shops in my area and got a hit to go to this one. The inventory of sports cards were less than extensive and highly unorganized. After i pushed pass this initial observation I began to look through some cards that were laid on the counter and found a couple that I was interested in however was never asked to be helped. I myself did not ask for help because the person behind the counter walked around and asked anyone for help that was looking at items other than sports collectables. The conversations going on in the store were less than tasteful (I.E. talks of ""crapping a cheeseburger"" by the person behind the counter) Overall I would not recommend going to this store if you are looking to buy/sell/trade sports cards/memorabilia. more

Dishonest or Incompetent? 1/6/2012

I made an online purchase for some gaming items from The Bat Cave (James Kellar). The shipment had missing and damaged merchandise. At first Kellar refused to respond to my emails until I made a formal complaint. He responded, saying he knew nothing about the things he sells for a living on a daily basis. This makes him either incompetent, a liar or both. He then refused to send the missing merchandise, replace the damaged merchandise or pay for shipping on a return. Other online reviews say the guy rips off anyone who isn't local to his store. I wish I had read those reviews before doing business with him. I advise anyone buying from this vendor to ensure he guarantees (in writing) his merchandise and return policy. There is no reason the buyer should have to pay for a seller's dishonesty or incompetence. more

A good friend and I make Frequent Friday Night Magic the Gathering Game trips up to Conway just to play at this store. The people there are friendly, great place to take your kids. T-shirts, collectible figures, and a huge comic selection new and old. more
