The Bamboo Tea House

This is my favorite spot for purchasing loose leaf tea to make exotic Iced Tea during the summer and beautiful aromatic hot teas all year long. Being from Boston I am a Tea ADDICT and I take mine with cream and sugar so I need a strong black tea. I love the selection the proprietor offers for all teas... Green, White and Black - Loose leaf and boxes of pre-packaged tea bags as well. My favorite for brewed Cold Teas that they offer is the Black Currant and the Tropical Passion Fruit blend. They have a delicious Apricot Tea and Earl Grey one that I have bought consistently for the past 7 years. Also you can find unique gift items here as they have the traditional asian gift offerings i.e; Hand fans, sushi dishes, tea pots and cups, jewelry and art work. They have a Farmer's Market on Sunday if you are looking for something to do and downtown Claremont is quaint so take a browse over to the Bamboo Tea house I think you'll like the atmosphere. As a die-hard coffee fan, I wasn't sure how much I was going to use the new tea pot I bought at the Claremont Bamboo Tea House--I'm now converted! The shop has an alluring variety of tea pots and teas to choose from. The pot I bought makes a fabulous cup of tea and pours beautifully. The owner asked me what my tea preferences were, gave me a generous sample of some African tea to try--encouraging me to stretch my knowledge of teas. The Pasadena location (two blocks west of Lake on Colorado Blvd across the Vroman's Bookstore) sells some of the best loose-leaf teas in town (try their Herbal Chai (caffeine free)) and has the BEST service. This lady is very knowledgeable about her teas and tea sets. Everyday she brews up a different tea, and lets you sample it. I've never seen the kind of variety of tea sets anywhere else. From the typical British tea set, to celadon Japanese tea sets this place has it all. I've purchased two sets from this place, and they're both cherished items. If you break a cup or wish to order one or two more, they'll put them on order call you when they come in.
