Thai Top is my go-to favorite local SoBay restaurant for delivery. My orders always arrive quickly and piping hot (especially the soup which requires an oven mitt to handle!). My favorites are the Thai Top fried rice and Chicken Larb salad (which is even more delicious cold, so I order one for my lunch the next day!) more

Yummy and quick, friendly service 2/26/2008

I had just returned from a trip to Thailand and only recently introduced to Thai food. Walked to Thai Top for dinner and described what I was looking for (that I fell in love with in Thailand) ""Thai Basil and Chili Tofu"". It was not on the menu, but she made it for me anyways! It was WONDERFUL. And later came back for my standard Pad Thai and again, very very good. They will flavor to taste if you don't want it to HOT. And of course they have my favorite imported beer Singha, from Thailand. :) I found it a great place and will go back. Pros: Yummy food. Quick Service. Cons: None for me. more

Exellent food and great temperature of food 9/29/2007

The service was lack luster, but I didn't expect much from a Hermosa Beach establishment anyway. The food on the other hand was very flavorful and the temperature of the food was not warm but HOT HOT HOT. That is so nice to see in a restaurant intead of the teped temperatures that they feel is exceptable to serve at. All flavors of all foods melded together beautifully. Pros: good food and delivered at proper temperatures Cons: teeny tiny tables and meter parking more

Worst Thai I've ever eaten! 6/19/2007

Don't go here as the food is disgusting! The beef Penang looked and tasted more like soup it was so watery. We ordered 3 dishes and a soup (2 soups if you counted the Penang) and could only finish half of the Pad Thai noodles. The rest was inedible. My wife had to go to get a sandwich afterwards and I had to get a slice of pizza. As far as cleanliness is concerned, well let's put it this way, I felt like I was in Thailand and that's no compliment. I should have known that there was a problem when I walked in and the restaurant had no lights on and was dimly lit. The Larb tasted like salt with some chicken mixed in to give it some flavor. The Tom Yum Gai was sweet like iced tea. I don't know where the other reviewers were eating but it sure wasn't here. Pros: lots of other restaurants nearby Cons: disgusting food more

Great food, ok service 1/16/2006

I have been to Thai and Chinese resturants around the L.A. area. This was as good of food as I found anywhere. I was plesantly suprised to find it tucked away in Hermosa Beach. The only bad thing we noticed was that the service was terrible. There were only two other tables with people and it still took nearly 20 minutes to get a waiter to take our order. That trend continued through the evening. Slow service all night, but great food. Pros: Great Spicy Food Cons: Slow service more

mmmmm....thai top 3/20/2005

One of the local gems. I haven't been able to find a bad dish in the bunch. The Tom Ka Gai is unlike any I've had before and you can't go wrong with any of the standards. Can't beat the prices. Pros: great food, reasonably priced, friendly staff more

the Best Thai Food 6/14/2004

I live right around the corner from Thai Top in Hermosa. There must be 50 resturants within walking distance, but I find myself eating at Thai Top at least once a week. The Pad Thai, Curry Fried rice and Beef Sate are sooooo good. Make sure to try the peanut sauce. We usually get delivery which is very fast. The portions are awesome and it's such a deal. Highly recommended! Pros: food, price, portions more
