What a disappointment this place is! The first clue is suburban white college age waitresses instead of Asian servers. I ordered a shrimp stir fry for $13.95 which had only 5 shrimps...unbelievable rip off. Secondly, the server was very unattentive, sloppy looking, and not knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is WAY over priced for what is served--and the taste is very Americanized. It is VERY obvious that both the chef and owner are white Americans--the owner born and raised in Upper Arlington. Certainly will NOT be back to this dive. Pros: clean restaurant Cons: poor service and inadequate portions more

Good lunch value 1/7/2009

I have just moved to Columbus, OH about 3 months ago, and so far, this is the best thai place I have been to. Granted, I have only had lunches at Thai taste, the portion and the price for lunch is great. The service has always been fast, curteous and friendly. Pros: Good lunch menu and good value more

Hidden Gem in a Strip Mall 6/11/2008

The outside of the shop is unadorned and makes the restaurant goer a little curious about what awaits you inside. The bar is the first thing you see when you come in, and then you get to the dining room. There are little awnings and umbrellas over the tables and booths respectively. I thought it was very comfortable and charming. The menu is diverse, offering traditional curries and noodle dishes. Each dish's heat level is customizable, and according to our waitress, they make the chili oil/paste on site. Pros: Diverse menu, amazing taste! more

Can't Take The Smell 8/25/2007

I'm sorry to say that this restaurant smells awful. We thought that we would get used to it the longer we were there, but we didn't. We won't be back. more

A Really Bad Experience 2/7/2007

My husband and I are here from California visiting friends in Dublin. We hoped to have good Thai food like back home. We didn't!! The Pad Thai was overcooked and the shrimp were so small. Our appetizer was too crispy for me to bite into and the server wouldn't get us something else. It was really unenjoyable to say the least. Our friends were really embarassed. more

I'm pretty sure I was sitting in the booth next to josh_sarah and heard the whole situation. The restaurant was full and it looked as though their waiter was fairly new and rather flustered. I don't, however, believe that their complaints were justified. He mentioned that the tod mun (a fried appetizer) was too crispy, but I think that's part of the package when you order fried food. Also, when they left they wanted their food completely free yet I saw that they had eaten almost all of it. more

Stay out!! 10/10/2006

I went to this place 2 weeks ago and I feel it is one of the worst restaurant in Columbus. Small portion compared to the dinner price. Worst of all, they charge you for everything, including extra rice. I'm allergic to mushrooms and I asked to replace them with other vegetables and ended up getting charged for that. Is it my fault for being allergic to mushrooms? Restaurants are part of the service industry, I don't see this place as customer oriented at all. I'm sure some of you have experienced that. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, but have ordered take out several times. I drive a small distance to get it because it's the best Thai I've had in town so far. Great, Fresh Thai food! more

If you like Thai Food? 5/17/2006

I had just tried Thai taste for the first time. The food was excellent. It had a variety of truly authentic dishes which involved all the flavors. Unfortunately they carry a number of Chinese dishes but the few I have tried makes it hard to frequent any Chinese establishment. You have to try the Pad Thai. It can be ordered with any meat or just vegetables. It is the best Pad Thai in Columbus. Tiger Cry and Yum Nur (steak salad) has a wonderful tropical flavor. For dessert I had the ice-cream kati. It is a homemade coconut ice-cream which is well worth your time. Take time to come to this Thai down home cooking experience. best opportunity to experience thai 5/17/2006

This is the definition of authentic Thai. The tom ka is to die for but anything with coconut milk is well worth your time. If you have any questions just ask for Burt. The Bangkok duck is rich and flavorful and their red snapper dish is excellent. Pros: authentic, great value, great atmosphere Cons: none, none, none more

apalling! 3/3/2006

The service is extremely poor, the food is awful and don't ever order the Prahlad Prig. I got a few strange pieces of meat floating in a sauce when I expected an entire fish.Requests to replace the dish or talk to the manager were denied! My wife and I walked out of the restaurant, our food barely touched and the bill paid in full. No aplogies were issued no explanation for the missing fish. The place is a ripoff! Cons: avoid!! more

I went to this restaurant for several times. The food is so delicious and the place is such a famulous place to go. The restaurant is so romantic. I also like the service at this place. Very good and authentic Thai food! 10/29/2005

My husband and I just went tonight and I had to write a review b/c it was a nice experience! We started w/Thai Iced Tea -you have to try it. You can order the dishes any spiciness you want - from mild/not spicy to knock-your-socks-off spicy. We had the Tom Yum chicken soup - delicious stock with mushrooms, chicken, tomato, and green onion garnishing. For entrees, we had Gang Dang w/ chicken - red curry with bamboo, green peppers, and another curry with potato and carrots (cannot recall the name). We went all out and also got dessert this time too - fried bananas (so good, my fav) and fried ice cream (my husbands fav)! The service from our waiter was excellent as well - he made the experience extra special. We will definitely be going back again soon. The best Thai food in Columbus 7/26/2005

I've been frequenting Thai Taste for years and it has remained consistently superb. Make sure to try the Tom Ka Gai or Tom Ka Puk soup. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Be careful, medium spicy can be pretty kickin'. Spring rolls make a great appetizer and the Gra Pow and Phad Puk are great entrees. You won't be disapointed regardless of what you order. THis is a great place. You can start with an authentic Thai ice tea. Begin your meal with Tom Ka, a spicy soup with coconut milk. For entrees, you will have a headache as everything in the menu sounds so delicious. Try the different curries, stir-fried dishes and also the noodles. If you like spicy stuff, try the Pad Key Mow, or if you don't want anything hot, an ordinary Pad Thai will do the trick. The best in Thai in Columbus - fresh and tasty dishes all around. Choose from the extensive menu or simply tell them your tastes - their menu recommendations are superb!! The best Thai food I've found from NY to Chicago. The service is authentically Thai--respectful and designed to make you feel like a guest. The chefs are all part of the family and excellent at adjusting the spicy flavors to your taste. Tasty Thai 7/18/2002

Good and cheap! They'll hop it up as hot as you can take if you just request it. Foods great and cheap, in and out! Generally won't need reservations, a good fail safe if you just flat forgot to make reservations at a restaurant on a Saturday night (call first, but they have always fit us in!)
