Best

Awesome, quick food that's not too expensive. Large portions too.

Worst

How would they have a Shrimp Entree and only have 5-shrimp in it. And have the never to have extra cost for it. Disappointed. The flavor of the food was not that great.

Pretty Good 9/16/2008

I went there they day Hurricane Ike was supposed to reach Dallas, so the place was empty, yet the staff was very friendly and corteous. The food was fresh, promptly served. I had the green curry and it was delicious. I recommed to go try it. I will definately go back there when I go to Valley View Mall, they're nearby. Oh, the outside of the restaurant is a plain shopping center style but the inside of the restaurant has a nice decor. The food taste was the best! more

My favorite Pad Thai 9/16/2008

I order take out from this place regularly. I highly recommend the chicken Pad Thai and spring rolls. The staff is very friendly. The food is deliverd on time, fresh and hot. The serving size is large enought for two meals. The price is very affordable. more

Best Green Curry in Dallas!!! 9/12/2008

I have tasted many a Green Curry in Dallas, and have to say that this place is the best. The wait staff is always friendly, the food is great, and the lunch prices are affordable (about $8.00 total for Green Curry and water)...what more could you want? Keep up the great food and service. Pros: Food, wait staff, price. Cons: They could turn up the AC, because the curry dishes raise the temp.. more

great food at great prices 9/12/2008

as you walk in the place you can tell it's a family owned business, staffs are friendly more

Thai food extraordinaire! 9/11/2008

Thai Tanee has quickly become a personal favorite for lunch. Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere, great service, friendly & helpful staff.....and best of all great food! My personal favorite is the green curry with chicken...it is prepared with just the right amount of spice and served with a very nice presentation. I am generally not a big fan of spring rolls, but these are great, and the soup of the day is always tasteful. Overall, a great place with great food! Pros: food and service more

Really good Thai and great prices 9/9/2008

Thai Tanee has become my standy for delicious and reasonably priced Thai food. This unassuming restaurant in a little strip center across from Valley View on Alpha Rd is a definite hidden gem in the limited number of decent Thai restaurant offerings in Dallas. The food is always delicious and fresh. The service is super friendly. Delivery, if you are fortunate enough to live or work within 5 miles of the location, is always prompt and again super friendly. Menu highlights (so far) include the salad rolls with shrimp, which are the best fresh spring rolls I've had in a Thai restaurant to date. The curries are excellent as well, the green curry with chicken, zucchini, and onions is lovely, as is the Mussaman curry, a personal favorite. The spicy rice noodles are delicious...thin rice noodles with egg, onions, bell peppers, and choice of protein stir fried with dried Thai chili and nam pla (think Pad Thai without the sourness of tamarind water or the sweetness of palm sugar) never dissapoint. I've tried a few of the stir fried entrees like the fresh ginger chicken and the spicy basil beef, all of which were done quite nicely. The proteins are moist, tender, and never overcooked in my experience, and the vegetables always crisp and al dente...just as any stir fried dish should be. The only drawback to the food at this place in the opinion of this chili-head is that the dishes tend to be on the mild side, even if ordered ""Thai Hot."" Other than that, Thai Tanee hasn't dissapointed me yet. The consistently good quality of everything I have tried along with their excellent service and prices make this little out of the way place one of my top two or three Thai places in DFW for sure. more

Friendly Delivery; Tasty Food 9/9/2008

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and my boyfriend and I were feeling unmotivated to cook or go out for dinner anywhere. We decided tonight would be the night that we order in from this Thai restaurant whose flyer I found on my door a few weeks prior. We ordered Fresh Broccoli (with beef) and Hawaiian Fried Rice (also with beef). We were very pleased with the quality of the beef and the overall flavors of our respective dishes! The broccoli and carrots in my dish were fresh and cooked to perfection. Our only complaint was that we asked for ""medium"" spiciness (if that's a word), and our food was not spicy at all. However, the overall flavor of the food was so good that we didn't really mind that it wasn't spicy. Given that I have only tried one item off this restaurant's menu, I don't feel it is fair to make a comparison to all of the other area Thai restaurants. I will say that I will probably end up as a regular at this restaurant - or at least as someone who regularly calls them up for delivery. I look forward to ordering from them again! more

great food, friendly staff 9/9/2008

I haven't really eaten Thai food before, but the first time I tried Thai Tanee, I was sold! The next time I took some visiting relatives who are Thai connaisseurs and they loved it too. There were 8 of us, each with a different dish, and everyone raved. The staff was very nice and helpful. A great experience! more

I had never really eaten thai food in the past. My sales assitant suggested I try Thai Tanee and I did. I have been back serveral times to have Lunch and have told other people about how much I have enjoyed the the food. The food was perpared and presented in a timley manner (I like my food served hot and I once owned a catering business). The service during the meal was exceptional and I will continued to dine at this restaurant on a regular bases. Pros: GREAT TASTING FOOD EXCELLENT SERVICE Cons: LOCATION more

This the specialty of Thai Tanee and my special one I never miss in my visit, crispy catfish with basil There food are spicy, is ok I go with spicy. If you can't eat spicy don't be shy to request what you like! Some of food can come with vegetables or tofu those who is vegetarians person. Salmon teriyaki red snapper in garlic sauce not bad is just ok! or three other flavors it is sweet and spicy soy. There was a moment when a weird taste shocked me. I stop after I ate, looking for the menu to find out what the heaven was I eating! I stop and walk to the counter and start a comment myself that ""What 'ARE THE TASTE IS THAT SO HEAVENLY JUST CALL!' Fantastic Traditional Thai Restaurant. 8/27/2008

Warm and inviting this fantastic Thai Restaurant welcomes you in with fresh flowers on the table and a warm welcome from the staff. Clean lines and modern lighting set the expectation for a great presentation for what is to come. Specialties on the board entice you with dishes of Volcano Chicken, beef teriyaki and salmon in ginger. I chose the red snapper in basil sauce ( chef specialty ) . This entree is for the healthy appetite, offered in a large filet or WHOLE snapper. Served with a light spring water jasmine rice , this filet was topped artfully with a beautiful mountain of flash fried basil, carrot flowers and sauteed sweet onions in a basil sauce. Quite a delight! Not having much room left with the healthy portion at a great price, I finished off with the Thai ice tea that was as sweet and refreshing as the fantastic service I received at this Tahi restaurant. The clipper gal below was right, take a look out for this fantastic Thai restaurant on Alpha or you will drive right by as we are inside ?tantalizing our taste buds? with fantastic Thai food that is in quite an unassuming location. I highly recommend this to the traditional Thai connoisseur. Pros: Great service, great food and love the decor! Cons: not one. more

Great Thai, hidden location! 8/24/2008

I deal alot with restaurants in my work, I eat alot of meals at restaurants that advertise with me, in my magazine, and Thai Tanee is one of the best, if not the best, Thai Food restaurants in the metroplex. It is very down to earth and the owners, Tee and his wife are genuinely friendly and have friendly, caring wait staff. The food is very authentic, the only downfall, is that is hidden away behind Valley View Center. I found it on accident one day, on my way to another restaurant and I am glad I did. My readers have really taken to the restaurant, for it has one of the highest redemption rates of all the dining in the magazine. Please take my advice and find Thai Tanee, you will be glad you did and once you eat there you will agree about the food and service. Don't forget to BYOB! What could be better! Pros: great food and service Cons: hidden, a little hard to find more

Excellent food and service! 8/15/2008

My wife and I had two thai teas, pad kee mao, and pineapple fried rice, and we were both quite impressed by the quality of the food. Pad kee mao is my favorite Thai dish, and their version was the best I've had at a restaurant. The ingredients were very fresh and it definitely tasted like authentic Thai food. My wife is Laotian, and while Thai and Lao food are not identical, they are very similar in many respects, and she also said that the food we had tasted like what she was used to back home. To top it off, the staff were very courteous, and we were served promptly. I will definitely be returning soon! Pros: Great food, courteous staff, reasonable prices, fast service! Cons: Easy to overlook due to location. more

Hidden best Thai Food in Dallas 7/4/2008

Thai Tanee's new look provides a cozy environment with a ?Thai smile? friendly atmosphere. The food is better than most Thai eateries. My rule of thumb is if a Thai restaurant can?t make popular dishes like Pad Kee Mow (Spicy Basil Big Noodle) or Pad Thai tasty, then the rest of the menu is probably not good. At Thai Tanee, I ordered Pad Kee Mow with one star (5 stars being very very spicy) and it was sensational. Pros: Food, Price, People Cons: Not eye catching more
