Thai Garden is tucked into a strip mall, but you'd never know it once inside. Low lights, beautiful art from the owner's personal collection, and soothing Thai music make this a place for kids with adventurous palates as well as a romantic couples and larger groups. You never feel out of place here. The staff is tops, but it's the food that leaves you weak at the knees. Leaves other restaurants in the dust From the exotically seasoned soups to the special duck curry, there are no false notes on this menu. A streamlined wine and beer list, Thai fruit juices, and you will barely have room for dessert. But make sure to have some of the Thai custard served atop sweet sticky rice. You will feel like family once you've been to Thai Garden. The hospitality is easily the most welcoming I've encountered, and the food is amazingly good. The owners want to bring real Thai-style home cooking to SLC---not Americanized versions. This is an elegant and exceptional place for either lunch or dinner. Any of the curries are excellent, as are the calamari, Thai dumplings, and the 'special dishes'. Close your eyes and point---you can't make a bad choice. Save room for the scrumptious Thai custard w/sticky rice--DIVINE! Great (even though small) wine list and good imported beers as well.
