Best meal in 5 years 9/10/2010

We moved here 5 years ago from N.Y. and now finally, we have found what has to be, one of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at and it's right here in Pittburgh. My wife is a very picky vegetarian and I'm very open minded when it comes to foods. Last night we drove over an hour for our anniversary, based on the reviews and WOW was it ever worth it. The service was excellant from the time we opened the door. They had a window table waiting with happy anniversary greetings from the whole staff as soon as we gave them our name. The food was amazing. The flavors were very unique and impressive. The place was clean, inviting and very authentic. Not a salt and pepper shaker in sight and you don't need one! My wife's a fireball and I'm not, which worked out great because you can choose your spice temp from 1-10. Can't say enough about it...!!! Great food, service, prices, it had it all! We'll be back, for sure. more

Best Thai in Pittsburgh 8/23/2010

Thai Cuisine has THE BEST Thai food in Pittsburgh. I have not had a bad meal here EVER. In fact, I've even gone here in a group, where we made up the majority of the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly, precise, and the food was unbelievable. If you haven't been to Thai Cuisine, you need to get there NOW! more

Highly Recommended! 4/5/2009

Pittsburgh has good Thai, but not very many Thai restaurants. I think now that I've finally been to Thai Cuisine, I've been all of them. This was the best. The musman curry (often called ""masaman"" in other parts of the country) was very tasty and the spring rolls were great. They serve enough so you can have leftovers! Pros: Great food, reasonable prices Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Best Thai. Period. 5/8/2007

When I lived in Pittsburgh I ordered from or dined at Thai Cuisine weekly if not more often. The service is impeccable and the waitstaff are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. The decor isn't very fashionable, but this almost adds to the restaurant's charm - especially after you try the food! While I have never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered there, I think the tom kai soup, green curry, and spicy basil noodles are absolutely fabulous. Truly, their spicy basil noodles are RIDICULOUS! I haven't been able to find anything like them anywhere else. Thai Cuisine is certainly the best Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh (I've tried them all) and since moving away from Pittsburgh, I haven't been able to find anything that even comes close in comparison to Thai Cuisine. Pros: Food, service, BYOB, price... EVERYTHING! Cons: Ambiance may disappoint some, but I find it charming. more

Thai Gem in Bloomfield 4/15/2006

This is the most underrated restaurant in Pittsburgh. It doesn't look like much on the outside- it's bare-bones exterior calls out ""greasy spoon."" But the reality is far from it. The Thai food offered is fantastic! The pad thai that is an omnipresent menu item glows at Thai Cuisine. The service is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. What makes Thai Cuisine stand out from the others is that it serves up deeelish food without breaking the bank! The prices are extremely reasonable, and the quality exceeds that of its upper-crust trendy rivals. A must-eat in Bloomfield for sure. (note: The ambiance is cheesy.) Pros: food quality, price, service Cons: ambiance, can miss driving by more

So good...I can't stop thinking about it 4/3/2006

Excellent food! Entire meal was delicious, and service was excellent. The decor and atmosphere is a little off - but pretty standard for any sit down asian/thai place. Take out available (I may stop on my way home tonight, because I can't stop thinking about it). more

Best Thai food in Pittsburgh 2/1/2006

I've eaten here more than 30 times in the last 3 years and have never been disappointed. Try the blanket shrimp appetizer, the tom ka gai (chicken coconut soup) and any entree. Order it medium (5), spicy (7) or ""red hot"" (9 or 10) and that's what you will get. Great food, very reasonable prices, BYO (which saves money) and a very warm and welcoming owner and staff. Easy (free) parking along the side street. I just can't stay away. more

the food here is delicious, the portions are generous, and they have a large vegetarian menu-- pretty much everything can be made vegetarian upon request. more
