Used to like this place, until I found a long hair in my food. They didn't even apologize for it. Won't be going back there. more

We have been coming to Thai Cafe for many years. It's a great quaint litte place. The food is wonderful and I recommend the Pad Thai, Special Fried Rice, Cashew Chicken and the Thai Donuts. The Sushi is also good and I love the Ginger dressing. more

Easy access (hardly ever a wait). The ambiance is dim. Feels a little old and the service is indefferent. The food is good with some really good dishes. Pad Thai, Kan Kai and little donuts with condensed milk dipping sauce. Just right on a weekday. (or a relaxed weekend.) Not the most exciting place but very tasty food. more

We used to love this place several years ago because of the ambience, superb service and fresh wonderful food, until last year when everything changed. The subdued, relaxing ambience of before has now turned into bright lights which reflects on the wall-to-wall mirrors and ruins the mood; food portions are inadequate, for instance, we ordered a spicy tuna salad and it was served on a gigantic bed of lettuce with 8 pieces of approximately quarter inch and very thin slices of tuna on top, we also ordered a rainbow roll with the seaweed so hard and chewy that we could not swallow it; service is practically non-existant, they only have two waiters which have no courtesy or people skills, they do have big attitudes, you have to wait minutes to flag one down and get their attention.\r My wife and I try go back every 6 months to see if it has changed, but to our regret it has not. This is definitely the last time we go. My only conclusion is that mostly all their clientele has to come from passers-by staying at the hotel, doorsteps from the Thai Cafe. As far as locals, like ourselves, I just can't imagine anyone would go back when there are such excellent places close by like The King & I and Shima more

The service is great, the food is excellent and you never have to wait too long for your order to come out in the event that you are really really hungry! Have the thai tea and the thai donuts for dessert... You're bound to love your dining experience at thai cafe! more

I was introduced to Thai Cafe about four years ago and I've been smiling ever since. If you're looking for the perfect combination of savory food , great service, and a cozy, intimate atmosphere This is the right place for you. \r \r My personal favourites are the Thai salad, Tom-Ka Gai soup, Lobster, Crabmeat or Chicken Curry with Fried Rice, and Thai Doughnuts with Fried Ice Cream to complete the meal.. I call this combination "Thai heaven on a plate!"\r \r Now just when you think it can't get any better .. off to the side there is the freshest, most savory sushi i've had this side of Florida. It's almost as if they dip right into the sea for each serving.\r \r Survey says, Thai Cafe is Thai and Sushi Heaven! more

I have been dining at Thai Cafe for several years now. The ambiance, service, quality and overall dining experience is unlike any other restaurant in the area. We often take our clients and out of town guests to the Thai Cafe because we always know that our dining experience will surpass our expectations. My husband and I recently visited and ordered the Chicken Satay, (one of my favorite appetizers) and the Crispy Duck. Never have I tasted duck cooked to such perfection. We also ordered several sushi rolls which never fail! The sushi is the freshest in the area! \r Our server was Nat. He is extremely knowledgeable of the menu and always there if needed, but not "overly" so, which can really get annoying! The service is always outstanding. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. If you are in the Miami Lakes area and have not tried this restaurant, you simply must. more

Very bad service 1/17/2010

Went for dinner on a sunday night with my family, from the start our table was dirty and they cleaned all other tables and left ours for last with us in it. We didn't get the water, until after they ordered the food and we had to ask for it. Finally once the food arrived we were missing utensils for one of the guest, this was something we too had to ask along with napkins. During our stay at the restaurant we didn't get water again or a decent service, not even a smile or a thank you. I must say, this was pretty disappointing considering we are always eating in the area. This restaurant I must say, had lousy service and the food is not worth the hassle. Do yourself a favor and go to another Thai Restaurant were they offer better service! Pros: It is in a good location Cons: The service is horrible !!! more

My husband and I have been going to Thai Cafe for many years and loved the food and the service. But now all that has changed. The service has been less than desirable. On our last few visits we had to leave after waiting at our table for more than 15 minutes for a waiter. The couple of times that we stayed, the waiter had an attitude, was arrogant and rude. We would have to call him every time we wanted to order an item. When he brought our dishes he would place them on our table from a distance in order to avoid walking any further. We usually go on Thursdays nights and this last time we went we noticed that by 8-8:30 pm we were the only ones left in the restaurant. That was never the case before, so I am assuming that other customers have also noticed the decline in service. \r Also, they have now started charging 75¢ for eel sauce! This is absurd! They are the only Thai-Sushi restaurant that charges for eel sauce. Imagine paying for steak sauce at Outback's or Longhorn's. \r If you want to eat Sushi/Thai in the Miami Lakes area, I highly recommend The King & I. The food and service is excellent. This is where we go now every Thursday night. more

Best kept secret in Miami Lakes. For years and years...in Main Street. I escape there when in the area. Great Tom Kah Gai soup! I raised my kids eating there all the time! For me is a clasic. Take a sttoll afterwards at Msin Srreet. Other good places to eat around, but nothing beats the flavor, comfort, intimacy and price of the Thai Cafe. For deser, I usually cross the street, and go for the expresso and the almond rolls at the French Bakery. more
