Great service; but it's about the food. We ordered 5 dishes. The chicken, fish, beef and shrimp tasted like they were boiled in salt water: they were tough, dry and tasteless, so the taste was completely removed from the sauces and broths. The Pad thai noodle was the worst we've ever had; even microwave pad thai noodle tasted better. The ""original Thai fish"" dish tasted like a frozen dinner and had no taste. The beef ribs were so tough that our jaws were sore from chewing them. The Chicken curry tasted just like coconut milk from a can, and the chicken in the curry was dry and tough. Our whole party agreed on these observations. We tried to give the food a chance but we did not even finish half of our plates. We went to another thai restaurant the following day and the difference was enormous. The food at Thai Basil simply did NOT taste like Thai. We were surprised since they used to taste good a couple of years ago. Perhaps these tough times have taken a toll on their quality. We will not return to Thai Basil, because now we know the difference between Thai food and a bad imitation of Thai food.
Pros: wonderful service, good looking food
Cons: food did not taste at all like Thai food, very dry meats
