Up for a big helping of MOLD?? 10/16/2011

One of the worst Thai food and dining experiences I have ever had . The Thai food here is at best bland and most disturbing was the restaurants lack of concern for sanitation and the quality of the food. I ordered Pad Ke Mao. While eating the ok dish, I ate a strong bite of MOLD. Gave it another chance, ate a few more bites before I ate another strong bite of MOLD. I have never tasted mold that strong in food and within 10 seconds of examining the dish I saw a lot of the beansprouts were green tipped with visible MOLD. I segregated one beansprout and not wanting to embarrass the server brought the dish towards the kitchen. Once the server came out of the kitchen I said "" hey I was eating this and tasted two big bites of mold and I can see it's the beansprouts. I think they are going bad like this one here."" The first thing she said is "" we don't take food back that's our policy"" and she would not take the plate away from me and left me standing there. I said it wasn't a big deal but there was no way I was going to eat anymore of it. She took the dish and said ""you still need to pay"" I went and sat down at the table again, still hungry thinking, ""why would I pay for food that was inedible?"" So when we went up to the counter and I said ""I really couldn't eat that food because of the mold, it doesn't seem fair to have to pay for it"" She said "" only a little mold, you pay"" Only a little mold??? I was amazed how unapologetic she was! Just trying to keep it low key and she was acting like we had done something wrong. THEN she went to the back got my quarter eaten dish and said "" you show me more mold"" I was not going to dig through that plate to show her the mold. She ended up taking off $5 and definitely lost a customer for a lifetime. Disgusting. Take responsibility. Not to mention sprouts are associated with multiple outbreaks of harmful bacteria like salmonella or the toxic forms of Escherichia coli. more

Could be better 11/9/2008

This was our first time here, and probably our last. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't that good and there are so many thai places around. We ordered the Pad Thai and their speciality Mee Grob. We always get Pad Thai the first time we try a restaurant as sort of a ""gauge"". The Pad Thai was all right but the Mee Grob was a big dissapointment. The noodles tasted stale and there were only 2 pieces of shrimp. The aftertaste that came with it was horrendous. Pros: ambience, service Cons: food more

hidden surprise in beaverton 6/14/2006

Best Thai i've had yet in portland! Very fresh seafood, extremely well prepared. The curry was rich, deep, and BOLD, with such a concetration of spices you could see it- beatiful color. Lunch service was poilte and prompt, and came with a free bowl of very good cabbage soup. Very beautiful staff, too! Hard to beat for a great lunch in the otherwise lackluster beaverton area (excluding Pho Van-yum!) Pros: nice airy dinning room Cons: stuck in the middle of a lame stip mall more

Reminds me of the food I had in Thailand 6/23/2005

The food here is authentic! It reminds me of the food I had while I was in Thailand. The freshness and layering of flavors make this restaurant a msut for Thai food lovers. more

Great attention to detail! 9/18/2004

This restaurant not only has great food, the attention to detail is truly striking. Everything from the square shaped salt & pepper shakers, to the animal shaped decals on the beverage glasses, to the goblet glasses given as water glasses & the geometric shaped dishes all add to its uniqueness. Presentation & first impressions are very important here. I love the bright paint on the walls & the surrounding mirrors. The service was great & the music contemporary. Perfect for couples to hang out. Pros: Competitive prices, Great Service, Wonderful Atmosphere more

it's a nice place for thai food 7/6/2004

I like this place because it's not too crowded. The owners ( staff ) are friendly and they also have good Thai food there. My favourite dish is papaya salad. I usually ordered it very very very hot. This is a good Thai restaurant with friendly service and good food. Pros: good parking, friendly more

A hidden gem 4/12/2003

Tucked in behind the Beaverton Trader Joe's, not many people know about this great place. It is worth finding! Good, authentic thai food served by extremely friendly, but not intrusive people. What more could you want? You must try the homemade lemonade! Pros: friendly service, great food, prices, extensive menu more

Roll your own 6/23/2002

I'm always on the lookout for Thai menus that include one of my faves - miang kum, and this place has it. Unfortunately, they bring six small spinach leaves with the fillers already on them - you can't even roll your own, and they left out the little hot peppers that give it the final kick! The service was pretty good, and they also offer my other Thai food necessity, sticky rice, which not all Thai places do. The main dishes we had were pretty good, albeit a little too oily. Pros: lots of parking, staff was friendly Cons: can be tricky to find more
