Best Steaks in Tyler 4/24/2012

We live one hour from the Tyler Texas Roadhouse, but we make the trip every chance we get. This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants the we know of. I have seen one review that says it is overpriced. Don't know how they could say that. My wife and I both get a steak with two sides and it costs less $25. I have never received a bad steak, and we have been here at least 20 times. I will agree that it tends to get loud at night. The wait staff all sing ""Happy Birthday"" to those that want to ride a saddle and be embarrassed on their birthday. At least once per hour the wait staff will line up and dance to the cotton eyed joe. But if you are looking for a very good meal at a reasonable price, this is definitely the place to eat. They also have a great ""Cactus Blossom"" appetizer which we call a Blooming Onion. They also have their own brand of steaksauce that is great. You can even purchase a bottle and take it home. Other than the noise at times, I can't think of a thing that isn't good about this restaurant. more

Always Satisfied!!!! 2/11/2011

Never had a bad experience!! A good fun place to chow down on some great steak, chicken or what ever suites you. Love those sweet potatoes w/ the maple syrup & marshmellow. I treat it like my dessert.\r Don't mind sitting and eating right at the bar. People are friendly, service has always been great and food always good!!! Worse thing I could say is sometimes seems like getting a drink from the bar (if not sitting at the bar) is a little slow whether busy or not. Not sure why. I watch to try to figure out why it takes so long and don't see any reason that it should but it's not that critical.\r Sounds to me like Texassusie might just be a pill and wouldn't want to go out on a date to have a good time w/ her w/ all that fussing. lol JK Texassusie. Just wasn't your cup of tea I guess.\r Always leave satisfied and happy!!! more

Great service and food! 12/14/2006

Yes! It is a busy place. Go early if you can. We have been there about 10 times and the service is always great. I never had to ask for a refill on my cold drink! 9 out of 10 times steaks were cooked just right. Try the chile as one of your sides. Pros: service/food Cons: Noise more

What a Joke 10/5/2006

Patrons practically climb a hill to get from the parking lot to the front door. Then you wait...and wait...and wait. (At least you have in-shell peanuts to entertain you and quell the hunger pangs while you wait.) Forget visiting with any dinner companions. It's way too loud for that. When you are finally seated, you wait some more, still unable to communicate with your dinner comanion(s). After your order is taken you will likely have another unreasonble wait but the next real wait comes after you ask for your check. The food is mediocre at best. But, they give you a lot of that mediocre food... at typically unreasonably prices. Pros: You get lots of food Cons: Loud, poor service, mediocre food more
