I had wanted to try acupuncture for a while but had been scared, a miscarriage led me to Texas Fertility Acupuncture and it has turned out to be one of the best health decisions I made. They helped me feel """"normal"""" after the miscarriage, helped me through a gallbladder attack and surgery, helped me after I got pregnant again and experienced a number of side effects and anxiety, they helped me after the birth of my son with breastfeeding issues, energy levels and hormone normalization. And when the time comes, they'll be able to help me through menopause too :) If you have any sort of health issue, relating to fertility or maybe outside of that in pain management etc., you owe it to yourself to call them and at least talk about it. If they aren't the right people to help you, you can have confidence in whoever they refer you to. My husband and I celebrated six years of marriage this year. After the first year, we started talking about children. We both have a love for children. We saw ourselves being parents one day. We all thought it would be an easy journey, but it hasn’t been for us. After a year of trying, and no luck, we were devastated that it wasn’t happening to us. It has been so peaceful and relaxing. Not only could I tell that I was better because I felt great but my basal body temperatures were improving as well. We did receive a true miracle. I first started seeing Kirsten and her team after 3 miscarriages. Kirsten had me start charting my temperatures and within our first few sessions she could see from my charts that my progesterone was very low. Sure enough the doctor called a few days later to confirm her suspicions. I was also diagnosed with borderline PCOS. Through the use of herbs, diet changes and acupuncture we started to see a difference in my charts and my temperatures got closer to the ideals. I am currently 42 and I have tried IUI and IVF in the past with no success. I have had endocrine issues for more than seven years, since my daughter was born. Thyroid problems that can?t seem to be controlled despite many appointments with my endocrinologist, and then in the past few years PCOS problems that doctors didn?t want to fully diagnose because I lacked one of the five markers they use. In addition to not being able to get pregnant for seven months, I really wanted to try something new to help my overall health issues. TCRA is a wonderful; I had read really great reviews and decided to give it a try. I really didn’t know what to expect-some weird new age atmosphere, some clinical setting? I was very pleasantly surprised. The San Antonio office is beautiful. It is very comfortable, but everyone is a complete professional and very friendly.\r My first appointment was with David. He took our medical history, and thoroughly explained how their treatment works. It was an hour and a half, and by the time it was over, my husband and I were sure we were making the right decision.\r I am 41, have had severe PMS symptoms, irregular periods and spotting for years. I have had several miscarriages and had trouble getting pregnant. I also have Bell ’s palsy (I woke up one day and ½ my face was paralyzed), and migraines.\r While I’m not pregnant yet, TCRA has completely evened out my cycle. No more PMS, little to no spotting before my cycle, and my basal body temperatures have stabilized. I am very certain, if there is a way I am going to get pregnant, it is with their help.\r They have also done wonders for my Bell’s palsy. I see Kirsten the majority of the time, and she is wonderful. When I started coming to TCRA, the left side of my face really drooped, but after coming to TCRA, you don’t even really notice it (unless it is windy outside-as Kirsten explained would happen.) A few Tuesdays ago I had an appointment with Kirsten. On the way (I have a 40 min drive) my head started pounding. I got to the appointment about 20 min. early and felt like I was going to pass out. I sat by the bathroom because I was sure I was going to be ill, it was one of the worst headaches I’ve ever had in my life. Kirsten was able to squeeze me in early; I almost couldn’t walk back to the acupuncture room. Kirsten asked my symptoms and where on my head the pain was, I told her, and she said that she would make me a special shot cup of herbs, and by the time the acupuncture treatment was over, it would be gone. (In my head I said “yeah, right. Maybe it will feel a little better, but be completely gone?).\r When the treatment was over, I sat up, and absolutely no more headache!!! I honestly couldn’t believe it. I called everyone I knew to let them know!\r I’ve had times when I’ve come to an appointment, and Kirsten will, for example, notice that I was limping. I wouldn’t even be aware of it, I’d get up and walk-I was limping. She would, of course treat it; they are just very aware and observant of every aspect of your body. They also give you nutritional advice based on your symptoms. If you are hesitant to try acupuncture, I urge you to give TCRA a try, the staff is friendly, the needles don’t hurt, and at the end of each session you are completely relaxed, but the best part is, it really works!\r more

I wasn't a ""typical"" fertility patient. I had a miscarriage at 40, no fertility treatments involved, and just wanted to feel normal again - I had never tried acupuncture but had heard good things. Not only did they help me through that with a lot of emotional support, no pressure about any choices for the future, but I also got sick with a cold and they pretty much cut in half my symptoms (my stuffed sinuses literally cleared 10 minutes after they put the needles in - amazing stuff!). THEN I had a gallbladder attack and they helped me through those symptoms and subsequent surgery and recovery, all went very well and healed very fast. I then decided I wanted to try and have another baby. They were very supportive and we focused on that. I was pregnant in 2 months. But had another miscarriage and told them ""I'm done"". I apparently wasn't, because I ended up pregnant again at 42. I called them as soon as I was sure it was progressing and asked for help getting through a pregnancy that was developing a lot of side effects (sinus/allergy, anxiety, swelling...) and as they always have, they were supportive and helped me immediately! I'm seeing them every week now (started around week 21) and I feel AMAZING and happy (entering week 27 now). About a month ago, I thought I might lose my mind this pregnancy was spiraling out of control with so many side effects and getting worse not better in the 2nd trimester... and of course, nobody else could help me with western medicine because of the baby! I can't say enough about acupuncture and the skills and compassion this team in particular have. They are always honest, they make no promises, but they offer you hope and help and support in whatever goals and needs you have as an individual - the WHOLE TEAM, including office staff you work with by phone in their Austin corporate office. Even if you aren't sure what you want or need, if you are exploring anything in the areas of fertility, pregnancy, female/male hormones... call them and at least talk to them. There are a lot of studies showing real data on increased success for people who use acupuncture with fertility treatments, even though that isn't the road I was on. The worst case scenario is you'll almost certainly feel better and more centered than you ever have before. Best case? They may help you hold a living dream in your arms! more

We found TCRA after going to RMA for a fertility work up. After 3 1/2 years of trying and being told we had a male infertility problem ( although not that severe) the doctors at RMA found that I had PCOS. I was a little skeptical at first bc I had little symptoms of PCOS besides not getting pregnant and I had never heard of it. We were encouraged by the dr.'s to schedule an IUI. My husband was crushed bc we wanted so hard to accomplish conception naturally. I just had an strong urge to try acupuncture first and after reading all of the reviews I knew TCRA was the right choice. I was still worried I wouldn't have the same success as previous clients, which I guess is natural. It seemed like 3 months was the magic number for all of the patients to see results . I discussed my doubts a lot with David and the rest of the staff bc I only felt slightly different. My 38 day cycle never returned to 28, only to 34 days... but this did happen within the first month or so. At 3 months I was so upset when I skipped a period and still had a negative preg. test. Because I had never skipped I began to get really depressed and thought of quitting AP. David assured me that this could just be my period skipping a full month and he aggressively continued my therapy. Another month passed and no period but I had began to get increasingly ill. I went to the dr. who performed a pregnancy test... still negative. We were all baffled and I was inconsolable bc I thought I had made things worse! 5 days later I was so "" weepy"" and ""nauseous"" that I took another test AND IT WAS POSITIVE! Additionally at my first OB apt. we discovered I had been pregnant for 2 months! The entire time that TCRA had been helping me cope and get through what we thought was a ""relapse"" I was pregnant ! Which just goes to show that you might have a different experience then some clients but I still feel like 3 months is the magic number to ""realign the universe"" or whatever. I definitely recommend up to 6 months if you have a male infertility factor as well but hopefully you will only need 3 months. It's also nice that the AP does help with morning sickness. On a scale of 1 to 10 my MS was a 65. I couldn't even get out of bed. But AP did help for about 48 hours after an appt. My case was really rare though and i recommend asking for zofran rather then missing weeks of work like I did. It's very expensive but you'll be able to ""make it through"" the day. Also if you pay in advance they do give no-hassle refunds which is nice, or you can save your account until delivery time and return for ""easy delivery"" AP. All in all, I have referred 3 people to TCRA and it's the first place I'll return to if I have trouble conceiving again. ESPECIALLY since it allowed us to conceive naturally! I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago and was told that we would never concieve without the help of technology. After nearly 3.5 years of drugs, tests and treatments and to two heartwrenching losses we decided to try IVF. Just as we were about to embark on our first IVF cycle, I discovered that I had conceived on my own and later delivered my beautiful baby girl. That was nearly 5 years ago. When my daughter was three we decided that we wanted to begin trying for another baby, but nearly a year later, no baby and my weight was out of control, hormones completely wacky and hope was fading. My husband and I had agreed that we would not undergo traditional fertility treatment this time, but didn't know where to turn. When I first came to TCRA I hadn't had a 28 day ""normal"" cycle my entire life. I had been told I probably had PCOS and would need medication to achieve pregnancy. My intention was to go and try to regulate my cycles and just see how my body responded and if there was a possibility I could become pregnant before turning to further medical intervention.\r \r Not only did I have a 28 day cycle the first month of being a patient at TCRA, I was pregnant the next month! In fact, they were the ones who recommended I take a pregnancy test and they were correct. I then continued their services until I was around 20 weeks to keep both me and the pregnancy healthy and thriving. Now I am 32 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and can hardly wait until I get to go back and prepare for labor and delivery.\r \r I firmly believe I would not have had such an easy and successful time with this without the help of the acupuncturists at TCRA. And, almost as important, I have had such a blessed pregnancy because of the acupuncture. No nausea of any kind, no discomforts, and they were even able to help me keep any anxieties at bay. All you have to do is read through their website to see that this is a place focused on healing and hope. \r \r I found TCRA sort of by accident. I had fertility issues for 2.5 years that resulted in using fertility medicine to get pregnant, which ended in a miscarriage at 10 wks. I moved to SA shortly after and didn't want to focus on fertility but wanted to find an acupuncturist because I feel better when I get it. I had seen other acupuncturists in the past who tried to help with my fertility issues but weren't fertility specialists. I happened across TCRA online and decided I'd try them but not focus on fertility. After meeting with David, however, I had a renewed hope for the possibility of having my problems healed through the use of acupuncture, herbs, and the diet that they recommend. I signed up for 6 mo of acupuncture and herbs, my periods continued to regulate, I felt better, and 3 months later I was pregnant!!!\r \r I continued to see them through my first trimester, which helped greatly with my anxiety over whether the pregnancy would last. I was diagnosed with both PCOS and endometriosis several years ago after suffering through painful periods that got worse and worse and that eventually took over the better part of my months. Last year, the pain from my endometriosis led me to having laparoscopic surgery to have excess tissue removed. After my surgery, my doctor put me on continuous birth control. This caused insane mood swings, and my pain didn't go away; in fact, it grew to the point of my taking three Aleve a day. And still, I was in pain. Many ""normal"" women only have pelvic pain during one week out of the month, if any time at all. I was the opposite: there was only one week out of the month where I *wasn't* in intense pain. Back in March, I heard about TCRA and decided to give it a chance. I wasn't sure that they accepted patients like me, since I'm only 20 years old and am not a fertility case. They do. After much thought and several weeks of acupuncture, I stopped taking birth control entirely, and I immediately had a period. Since that time, my menstrual flow has changed from the dark brown characteristic of endometriosis to a bright, healthy red. My periods have already stabilized to around 28-31 days. I've been consistently ovulating around mid-cycle, even with my PCOS. And today I am ecstatic to report that my pain is now down from a 10 to a 2 during my period. I have very little to no pain throughout the rest of the month, and I still have several months to go in my treatment. My condition improves every single month. I began reproductive acupuncture at TCRA in San Antonio when we began seeing an RE for infertility. My problem wasn't actually getting pregnant, but staying pregnant.\r \r I truly believe that the acupuncture helped me conceive more quickly, and then helped prevent miscarriage and encourage a thick uterine lining. I had stage 3 endometriosis and my husband and I had been trying to conceive for almost 3 years when we met David and Kirsten. We were at the end of our rope and felt we had exhausted all of our resources which included 7 IUIs, injectible medications,and 3 surgeries. David and Kirsten restored our hope by treating us like family and encouraging us to continue to make our dream of have having a child a reality. At 52 years old I have started to approach menopause with a significant amount of hot flashes. With a family history of breast cancer I realy wanted to avoid hormone replacement therapies, but did not want to be uncomfortable. I have never really dealt with any holistic or herbal medications, not that I did not believe in them I just was not sure how they worked.
