The food was bad. The service was horrible I do not recommend . Better Mexican in town. more

Tequila Sunrise has never really disappointed me. The plentiful amount of complimentary chips and salsa are always a treat. I always seem to order the enchiladas rancheras with chicken and occasionally beef. The meat is always very lean and delicious. The enchiladas come with a generous amount of rice and beans. I ALWAYS have leftovers to take home!! My only little gripe about the place is that it is in a somewhat obscure area. more

My wife and I went there recently and were sorry we did. Rude staff, food wasn't good and place is dirty. Sorry we went - won't go back. more

We ate here years ago and it was good. Not now. The food was tasteless, the server was uninterested and bored, and the place needs to be remodeled. We ordered margaritas which we think were watered down. The whole place looks dirty, dark and dingy and to top it off, we spotted a roach on the floor near our table!\r \r The only good thing about this place is the value but it's not worth it. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like. \r \r We won't be going back. more

Taco bell is better than this! Bad service... Bad tasting meat... The only good thing was the beer to wash the taste out but they didn't make the beer! more

One word: gross. The margaritas tasted like watered down salt. The veggie burrito made me sick. Don't come here. more

Ive been here numerous times and never walked away disappointed. The shredded beef they use is very lean and tastes great. Generous with the while-you-wait nachos and salsa too. I'll be back. more

I was disappointed. I was expecting a great meal along with great margaritas. The staff was nice but that doesn't make up for the nasty margarita. I ordered a pomegranate frozen margarita and it tasted water downed, salty with a hint a flavor. I couldn't even finish it... I didn't even get half way. If your vegetarian like me, don't go here. They have very limited options besides salad. I ordered a veggie burrito and it was alright. Inside came with peas, corn and mushrooms; this was the first time I ever ate a burrito with those kinds of fillings. They were topped with cheese and this cilantro sauce that saved the burrito from disaster. I got a side of rice and refried beans topped with cheese. As I said, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. City Link must have been drunk before they tried their margaritas because it is definitely not the best in Broward. I think the chips and salsa were the best thing I had. I'm not going back; I have tried 10 times better Mexican restaurants at the price $$ besides this restaurant. Go at your risk. more

Just landed in Ft. Lauderdale getting back from Mexico and wanted to extended the vacation through one more meal. Excellent service, food, and margharittas. A great trip! more

Standard (but overpriced) Mexican fare; the service was slow and our server was downright rude. I'm pretty easy to please but this was a bad experience all around. more

This is a nice place, and I like that it's away from the touristy areas. I've ordered their pork carnitas and prickly pear margaritas a couple times and have always been pleased. They also offer BOGO coupons for entrees. Definitely worth a visit. more

Very good! Really top notch even though the purists among us might argue that it is not totally authentic Mexican. Indeed one of the very best in Lauderdale, but where it really tops the others is in value, friendly service and generally friendly, pleasant atmosphere. Indeed it probably has the best Happy Hour in all of Lauderdale with good $2.99 margaritas and only $7.99 for a whoppingly huge 46 ouncer fishbowl margarita. And yes, you can also get a prickly pear as well as other margarita varieties too. \r \r They serve both green and red salsa chips with your meals, a list of various tacos, which tacos are larger more full of goodies than those found elsewhere. The menu is large and complete with just about every Mexican food you can think of including a delicious rendition of a Pacific Crepe. \r \r The staff is quick, courteous and friendly. They can also accommodate large groups. Last time I went I had 27 guests with me and they even gave us a room to ourselves. more

While driving down Dixie Hwy I looked over and saw Tequila Sunrise Mexican Cafe. I was like, damn it's been 10 years since I've been there I really used to like that place. So I decided to stop in for lunch and I'm glad I did. \r \r I have always loved the interior of this restaurant. Nor sure why because there isn't anything fancy about the place. It has a rustic look with an outside covered patio. It has a nice relaxed vibe to it.\r \r My server was very friendly and she told me that each lunch entry comes with soup and salad. She pointed over to the middle of the restaurant and there was a help yourself salad and soup station. Not wanting to fill up on that, I opted to eat the chips and salsa instead along with the Crab Burrito with yellow rice. \r \r The chips and salsa are very good. The chips were nice and warm and I really enjoyed the salsa. The hot salsa was green pepper/tomato mixture and it was extremely tasty. I mixed the red mild salsa with the green and it was F'ing awesome. \r \r The crab burrito was very different from all the others I have sampled over the years (see pic). When I say different I mean different in a VERY good way. What sets this one apart is Dijon mustard sauce and the blue crab meat stuffed inside. Two unique flavors that work well together. You really have to try it to understand how this mixture is so different from the standard snow crab filling and white sauce found on all the other crab/seafood burritos. Just good $hit.\r \r Sometimes you forget about all the great hidden restaurant gems we have in the area. Tequila Sunrise Mexican Cafe is one of those places and I'm glad I rediscovered her:) Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry! more

WOW! This place will rock your socks! This is the freshest Mexican cuisine in all of Fort Lauderdale! The margaritas are rated the freshest by City Link as well. I HIGHLY recommend their famous "fish bowl" margarita. Its made with fresh lime juice and enough for 2 people, but because I love my tequila and margaritas I keep it all to myself. :) My little sister has the hot wings since she isn't into Mexican food and after trying them I was EXTREMELY impressed! Super juicy, hot, fresh and crisp! I always get the taco/enchilada combo which is amazing. The chicken taco is all white shredded and seasoned meat in a crispy tortilla shell, and the beef enchilada is baked with ooey gooey fresh melted cheese on top, tender chunks of beef, and the brown enchilada sauce I could literally drink with a straw its so delicious. Their yellow Mexican rice is different from other restaurants because it is fresh, slightly yellow in color, and specked all throughout with carrots and peas which I LOVE since I'm a veggie freak. YOU HAVE TO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! Salsa is fresh and heavenly with the fresh taste of cilantro, and chips are always crisp. Food is ALWAYS fresh and for a reasonable price! If you are local like I am, check your mailbox for coupons from time to time, they usually come in the coupon envelopes they mail to you from local businesses in the area. YUM YUM! more

I figure if you eat at one place over and over it must be one of your favorite places. So this must be one of mine. I eat here very often. The lunch specials are great. The dinners are great. The staff is great. Wow. This place is great. Definitely my favorite sit down Mexican restaurant. I have never had a bad meal here. The tacos, enchiladas and fajitas are all very good. Haven't tried any burritos or much beyond those 3 but I keep going back for more. Did I mention the HUGE Margaritas? more
