Great Selection... Customer Service needs work 7/2/2010

went to restring my racquet.... I was explaining to the stringer the tensions I wanted to the corresponding strings... the bull-necked, corpulent stringer had an attitude when I asked if he was sure he got it because he didn't right the string names down.... Pros: Great selection. Cheaper than online retailers with membersh Cons: rude customer service.... more

A Great Place to Shop for Tennis and Golf Items! 12/13/2009

If you fall within the normal range of sizing this is a great place and the customer service is wonderful in all areas except for their shoe section. \r \r The only issue I have ever had is in the shoe section. My husband wears a size 16 and in order to get a shoe for him we have to pay for it without trying it on! For shoes we go to New Balance in Farmington Hills (the service is far superior). Pros: Selection & Prices Cons: Sizing more

Great Selection but RUDE Customer Service 6/24/2009

Store has great selection and prices comparable to online resellers for certain items. I've shopped there numerous times for rackets, clothing, and shoes, and while the selection is extensive, the service is spotty going from knowledgeable to plain rude. HR needs plenty of work. Case in point: I took a racket in for restringing, played with it for half an hour and then the strings broke near the frame. When I took it in for a refund, David, a customer service rep ""evaluated"" the racket and concluded it was ""lack of skill"" from shanking the ball that the strings broke BUT he would replace it ""this one time"" (as if he was doing me a HUGE favor!). He then went to equate the error to crashing a new car on the way home from the dealership. I mean COME ON! I've played tennis for decades and shanked plenty of shots with no strings breaking near the frame. This was, naturally said, in front of the whole customer service staff, and in line customers, for full effect. I find that type of rude service unacceptable, and in this business' operations, more the norm than not. Lesson- the prices are good, but with customer service like that, I'd rather pay more somewhere else for better service. Pros: Great Product Selection Cons: Rude Customer Service more

Nifty, fun shopping experience for sporting apparel and items! 11/1/2008

Excellent and extremely friendly customer service. I frequent this store at least once per month and have never had an experience that came close to being ""rude"". From the helpful people who work the floor, to the cashiers who make even the slightest wait a smiling pleasure, I enjoy every aspect to shopping here. Plus, the inventory is terrific and varied, the store is easy to navigate, and the prices are below retail if you have a yearly membership, which is a mere pittance to pay considering the discounts you get. My only minor gripe: not open on Sundays, nor on Friday nights, when I am available to do my shopping. But on the other hand, they are to be commended for not having Sunday hours -- sometimes I wish it really would return to being ""a day of rest"" -- instead of ""a day for retail"". more

Friendly, helpful service, knowledgeable staff, comfortable environment 3/5/2008

My daughter and I went into the store this past weekend. We were waited on by Scott, who was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter had time to check out a number of rackets, and they were mindful of my concerns over price. The young man in the shoe department played both tennis and golf and knew the product. The bag that was recommended was one of the least expensive. The checkout line moved efficiently. I was comfortable in the store and would go back again. My only complaint is that I don't think they told me that the racket price did not include the cost of stringing. more

Less than stellar 7/16/2007

This store does have a good selection, but then again, so do the chains and discount stores. I found some of the people who worked there pleasant, but others were extremely nasty, so I didn't see the benefit when it's easier and more pleasant to shop on line. It's a good place to go if it's convenient and you're not sure what you want so you don't want to order on line, or if you're not near a sporting goods chain store. But unless you don't mind rudeness, this not some place I'd go out of my way to shop in. more
