My best girl brought me to this place while in town for a show. Funny enough, it was around 6 PM on a week night, we called Ruths Chris 1st, but they couldnt seat us till 9 PM.\r At Ten Prime, we walked in and were escorted right to a table and were welcomed with an immediate drink order.\r I ate just about 1 of everything. The sashimi was out of this world! The steak was perfect and priced as a perfect steak should be. The hollandaise that came out with the flight of sauces made me more then happy.\r We ate and ate and were there forever! Drinks were spot on (since I usually travel with a martini nazi) everything at the table was kept fresh. Had no problems and have recommended this place to anyone who says they are going anywhere near Rhode Island!\r more

Fun place, decent food 11/17/2009

Went on a Monday night while in town for business. I was seated promptly, and the hostess was very nice. I was by myself (and brought a book to read), but was still treated very well. The drink was a little sweet for my taste, but then again, no one makes a Margarita like my husband! I had to try the Lobster bisque, and I this was most disappointing. The taste was OK, and there was lots of succulent lobster in it, but it was very very thick, with a consistency of porridge, which I found very offputting. My sushi was good, in particular the nigiri. The 10 roll was excellent. The sushi sandwich was fascinating, a little spicier than I remember the description saying. My server was very attentive without being intrusive. Overall it was a nice experience. It would be perfect to take someone who didn't like sushi, as they would have a completely alternate menu to order from. Pros: Atmosphere, excellent service Cons: Inconsistent more

What a JOKE!!!!!! 11/17/2009

I dont get a chance very often to dine out at an expensive place like ten. But, I got the chance and went for it. Well it took us 15 min to be seated, then another 10 min. for our server to great us, then when he did , he just basicly said welcome and walked off again and we waited another 5 min or so. We saw the slutty manager flirting with the chef by the sushi bar. Im sorry but no manager should have her boobs hanging out that much, you are a business woman, there for you should act that way. So our server came over with the biggest attitude cause I guess he wasnt suppose to be seated. The food runner was checking on us more then the server. I guess he could see we were not happy, I understand it was 3 nights before halloween but come on....... The food finaly made it out 45 min later and the steaks were over cooked and the mash. was also it had the texture of applesauce. Then yep your right, it took forever to get our check. This is the worst place ive ever been in rhode island......they have no clue im the executive chef of a few of the finest restaurants in the south east. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will be making some phone calls to the right people about this place Cons: Worst service, slutty manager more

Great steak 9/30/2009

We moved to the area not too long ago from NYC. This food was just as good as anything we've gotten in the city. The prices are high, but for a great steak, I'll pay. Pros: Excellent quality food Cons: Prices, accessibility more

Amazing Clam Chowder, Melt in Your Mouth Sushi 8/13/2009

The clam chowder was fantastic, flavorful and creamy! The best i have ever had. The sushi is just amazing, high quality, melt in your mouth freshness that can't be compared to anything else in this city. The steaks are also unbeatable. Prime, delicious meat. The service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing.\r will be back! Pros: great service Cons: noisy more

Best Sushi in Rhode Island Hands Down 8/4/2009

Always the frestest sushi fish, creative rolls, steaks are great as well (Sirloin Au Poirve a must). Friendly waitstaff and trendy crowd. Always worth the trip from MA Pros: Sushi, atmosphere more

terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/26/2008

pretentious staff, cramped like sardines, food i wouldnt feed to my dogs, rip off prices, ok sushi, long wait even with reservations, ignorant hostess, from beginning to end its a wonder why this place is even still open. Pros: ummmmm none Cons: the whole place more

I've had better sushi at a gas station 8/21/2008

We're new to Providence and drove by this restaurant. It looked great from the outside, very trendy. However, it is VERY tight inside. The tables are so close together that we started conversation with the people next to us because they were practically in our laps. We ordered sushi, and it was NOT GOOD. Save your money and get some sushi at Whole Foods instead. Portions were small, taste was bland, overall it was a very expensive and very bad experience. We will never go back. Pros: easy parking Cons: price, bad food, cramped inside more

Sorry, not worth the bill. 5/21/2008

Considering the fact that it's in downtown Providence, parking is usually easy to find. They also have valet service, but it's hardly called for. The general ""look"" of the restaurant is very trendy, but it has the worst layout. The tables are about literally 4 inches apart. It makes you feel like you're having dinner with the people next to you. If you get a loud crowd next to do then good luck. This place is definitely not reccommended for dates, since there's no privacy. The food is good, but not great. Not good enough endure the terrible seatings. It is also over priced. If you're looking for authentic sushi, this is definitely not the place to go. Mediocre is more like it. The crowd consist mostly of young women and older men. You guessed it, it's a place for men in their 50s to pick up the young gold diggers. Please save your money and time. They try to come off as a hip new york, upscale, italian restaurant with an asian flare...FAR FROM. Big let down. Pros: Parking was okay considering it was located downtown Providence Cons: Bad seating, loud, over priced for average/ below average menu. more

Not worth the money spent 3/22/2008

For the amount of money spent there, it was definitely sub-par. First off, the sushi had fish scales on it and almost cut my mouth!! Then I ordered a steak for over $50 and it wasn't even cooked enough. I like it medium/medium rare, but it was basically still mooing when it got to me. I could hardly even cut it with a knife because it was so hardly cooked. Dessert was missing flavor also. But besides that, everything else was fine. Martini was good and the service was friendly. Pros: Trendy Cons: Too much $ for the quality more

NO WAY TO TREAT YOUR PATRONS: NEVER VALET PARK YOUR CAR!!!!!!!! 11/25/2007

I've never eaten at this restaurant. I was only involved in a minor car accident involving one of their valets. The valet was retrieving the car of a restaurant patron when he rear-ended us at a stop light. After much discussion back at the restaurant, we were assured that night that the restaurant would ""take care of everything."" We later learned that their policy was not to cover any damages caused by their valets while parking cars. This was a policy that they kept reiterating was stated on the valet ticket. This didn't mean a whole lot to us, having never been to the restaurant.\r \r The restaurant patron was left with a $2,300 repair bill and we were left with a $900 repair bill to our car. While the restaurant sent a check for $500 to cover some of that cost, they failed to take full responsibility for something that their employee caused. We were merely driving down the street, and the next thing we're stuck with an expense that was in no way our fault. \r \r Throughout the experience, it continually took several days to hear from the manager of the restaurant depsite her guarantee that she would call me asap the following day. This was promised several times by several people throughout the company. I left messages for John Elkhay- the ""maestro"". He never responded to my calls.\r \r I'm disappointed that this is how a business treats their patrons and even more- how they treat the innocent victims of accidents that their employees cause. I will never go to this restaurant- I hope others will think twice before they do, and last but not least- never valet park your car...they'll make a chump out of you.\r Cons: Business people/restauranteurs who re-neg on their word and treat patrons poorly. more

THE VERY BEST POMEGRANITE MARTINI & SUSHI AROUND 4/2/2007

I am literally on the fence in writing this review. In the interest of sounding positive, I?ll begin by stating Ten has the freshest sushi I have ever tried. I?ve tried other upscale sushi restaurants, but nothing comes close to Ten. Their pomegranate martini has to be the best known to woman (ok?and man). Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every item I?ve tried on the menu from New England clam chowder to the bacon wrapped steak to their decadent souffle. \r Now for the other side of the fence?the seating and layout of this building make it for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. There are only two decent tables: the two facing Pine Street directly in front of the windows. Even the third table in this area is no good, as it faces the inside and people congregate right on top of you as you?re eating. The rest of the tables I have [literally] been ?bumped? every time I sit in a chair in the aisle by staff and/or patrons while trying to eat.. It is the most uncomfortable feeling. Since complaining without a solution will solve nothing, may I suggest they pick a decent ?slow? time of year to reconstruct the inside ? starting with knocking down that infamous half-wall between the bar and tables that people constantly try walking through while endlessly excusing themselves! Not to mention the poor people sitting in the half booth constantly in fear someone will spill their drink resting on the edge on their heads!\r -AMAckley Pros: Food Cons: Seating more

Avoid; indifferent service. Poor layout. Do not go on the weekends. Very disapointing. We got bumped ever few minutes while seating at our table. Even fter complaing to mgt, nothing was done. 3/31/2007

Something is wrong. They are indifferent . Do not go. Please save yourself a ton of money and a night. Worst ""upscale"" rest. that I have been too. What a joke. Pros: terrible Cons: see above. give me a break. I would not send my worst enemy there. more

Go elsewhere 11/3/2006

I came back from New York City where I am pursuing graduate studies to my home area of Boston, MA for a visit and was eagerly anticipating dinner with a friend at this place. To say the least, this place is a joke. Between the horribly arranged and cramped vestibule area, the more than 45-minute wait time (for an already-reserved table), the VERY rude/unfriendly service (even compared to NYC servers these guys are nasty), and the MEDIOCRE food at OUTRAGEOUS prices, I would never recommend anyone go to this place. more

If you like cramped you will love it here! 10/1/2006

This has to be hands down the worse bar arrangement in the state. Why make a so called bar area where there is absolutely no where to stand without getting pushed and shoved by others trying to jam into an impossible space. I understand space definitely is a problem here no question, then why shoot for the moon, pare down the concept or look for another space. You have the same problem with the table spacing. Like so many other restaurants owned by John Elkhay he obviously must feel we as dinners have a need to listen to other tables conversations. Whether it is XO, Citron, etc., all his restaurant bars are the same, no room for people to stand at the bar without getting in the waitstaff's way. The food and service is also below average for the outragous prices. This is definitely one of those restaurants that has gone downhill since it's opening. Pros: Valet Cons: bar & table spacing, prices, service more

Best Martini!! 9/24/2006

The best Bartenders!! You cant get better anywhere in Providence!! The food is great and the service even better. The choices are endless. more

Not worth it 9/13/2006

We had a 9:00 pm reservation on a thursday night. We maybe sat down at 9:45 with no explanation or apology. We were cramped together in the bar area and kept having to move more the waitstaff. I was not impressed at all by the service and the table we were at. Furthermore the food is WAY overpriced for the quality. This place actually makes me mad. Pros: valet parking Cons: food, price, service more

So, SO 8/8/2006

Well 10 used to be great when it first opened but the food and the service has since been going down hill. If my husband and I are going to spend $150 on dinner, I think we'll go to Capital Grill or to Federal Hill. If I'm looking for a trendy place to go for flashy drinks with the girls, I'll stop by 10 but that's about it. I think it's a little overrated and I don't like standing or sitting on top of people. Good Luck! more

Great for mingling, not the place for an outstanding meal 7/28/2006

Spectacular place to mingle with pricey but flashy drinks. If you want to eat, however, the steaks are simply adequate despite being quite expensive, although I can say they at least cooked it to order. The sushi was also extremely overpriced for what you get, especially when you know that there are definitely other places in Providence where you can get better sushi for better value. The desserts were delicious, but nothing out of the ordinary that I would make the trip out for. Come for the ambience, have a $9 mojito, but don't expect to impress out of town visitors with the cuisine at this restaurant. Pros: Ambience, decor, good drink menu and wine list Cons: Poor value for steak and sushi; mediocre meals for big bucks more

Looks nice.... 5/30/2006

We had a reservation for a normal party size (4) for 9pm... we didn't get seated until almost 9:40. We asked to speak to the manager and the hostess ""forgot"". Once seated, in a cramped corner of the restaurant, we were treated very well by the wait staff - very friendly and professional team. The menu was large with an OK selection of sushi and small selection of maki. The maki had some usual names, but the prices were twice the usual. I ordered the sirloin au povre and it was just OK. The meat was a good quality, but the sauce had no flavor. The dessert (compliments of the house after our 40min wait) was amazing! The cobbler and bread pudding are must haves... I'd say skip the meal and go right for dessert! Pros: Good look, dessert, good wine lise Cons: crowded, rude hostess, pricey more
