My huband & I went here wanting an intimate dinner. The decor and staff makes this place lovely and this place is supposed to be well-known for their chicken, but the seving sizes...

Disapointing considering the hype 1/24/2010

My huband & I went here wanting an intimate dinner. The decor and staff makes this place lovely and this place is supposed to be well-known for their chicken, but the seving sizes are way too small considering the heavy price tags on the menu. We left there and hit the fast food joint across the street because we were still staving. There are far much better places that are just as pretty with better food and better prices. more

Teibels is noted for their chicken and fish. They're an old restaurant, running since around 1935. They have a small coffee shop on the side of the bigger restaurant. Fried chicken is their speciality. But they have a nice variety of fish available. Take out is available too. Cole slaw is wonderful! more

Teibels "the ideal family restaurant" is a Schereville institution. It offers a limited selection that allows them to prepare each dish to perfection. Every thing at Teibels is made from scratch, from their delicious soups, to their mouth watering coleslaw. I recommend ordering Teibels excellent lake perch. I also recommend Teibel's region famous fried chicken that has kept the restaurant open since 1929. Teibel's is a breath of fresh air form the Friday's, Red Robin and Applebee's type restaurants. The restaurant stays afloat due to their loyal dishwashers Al, Collin Carey, Andrew, Alex Urbanczyk, Kyle Buckley, David Somodi and Danny Medoza. These dedicated employees ensure that everything is running smoothly. Under the direction of Head Chef Joe Pavel, all Teibel's employees ensure complete satisfaction to all their guests. Generation Proof Excellence 11/17/2006

My grandmother who was born in 1880 loved meeting her girlfriends here for lunch! My high school had drama banquets here and my employee has done dinner celebrations as well as the family for special occassions. I thought this was everybody's favorate restaurant! We stop many Sundays after church and have never been disappointed. Whether is was the front room with the family style all you can eat perch (yes, ayce perch is back!) or a lunch special in the coffee shop or meeting with friends in the lounge every meal has been savoured. No one prepares chicken or perch better. And the cole slaw, kidney bean and cottage cheese salad has been duplicated but never better. Our grandchildren are now coming with us. And do not be surprised if someone from the Tiebel family waits on you. We are not the only ones that have been doing this for 75 years. I imagine they will be here another 75 years. Why don't they franchise? Pros: Great food, fair price and even entertainment at select times. Cons: Usually full! more

Family Friendly 9/22/2002

The varied American food fare is served up just like years ago in the large dining room; it's faithful patrons have been coming here for years! Tried and true over time, a great place to experience a hearty/wholesome meal with the ambiance of 'what dining used to be like' in the 50's. Our service was warm, friendly, and caring-just like grandma would give us! Bring the kids because they luv 'em here! more
