My friend and I are on a quest to find the best burger. Ted's was our first stop. After seeing man vs. food an many other shows we had to find out what the steamed thing was all about. The very small luncheonette was still busy at the late hour we were there. The staff moved quickly to the point of inpatient while waiting for us to decide. we were memorized by the little draws of beef and cheese get loaded into the steamer. Overrated 5/4/2009

I just don't get it. The burgers were small and bland. No flavor. And also they don't even have french fries. They had home fries, breakfast style. Ted's is no comparison to a place like Plan B or even some great hamburger places like Le Tub in Ft Lauderdale. Very dissapointing. The pros are the prices are cheap and the employees are nice. more

The best cheeseburger in Connecticut 3/21/2008

I saw the story about the best hamburgers in the country and tried Louie's Lunch first, (closer to my house) but Ted's was MUCH better!!! Better burger, faster service, half the price, and nicer people - both working there and customers!! It is a small place but I was offered space in a booth with another customer, and we all had a great lunch!!!! I will be going back there!!! Pros: easy street parking more

The best place to get steamed hamburgers/cheeseburgers. And if you have lived in Meriden, you know to follow with dessert at Les's Ice Cream. Best meal you will ever have. more

While not a very enticing atmosphere, the steamed cheeseburgers and cheese fries are the best in the area, possibly in the state. more
