I decided to have lunch at City Place today and decided to try Taverna Opa. I tried the lunch special of a Gyro Wrap and Soup. This was a large bowl of a creamy chicken and lemon soup and a fair sized gyro containing tender pieces of meat for $8.99. Both items were very good. Service was also good. I would do lunch here again. more

Good place to sit in patio area while waiting for a movie. Good happy hour options. Original Opa Greek salad very fresh and hummus not blended, with lots of garlic and whole chickpeas. more

West Palm Beaches Finest!!! 6/16/2011

A friend of mine was getting married but for his bachelor party we all decided we wanted to go to Taverna Opa to start the night. We figured that we would go and have a meal before we started bar hopping for my buddies last night of freedom. When we got to Taverna Opa there was no wait so we were able to get in quick and we sat to eat! I tried the ""Flaming Cheese"" because I had never had that before. It was great. It was a big slice of cheese that they brought to our table and set on fire in front of us with a good yell ""OPAAAA"". After the cheese, I had the Gyro Wrap which was great. What got me though was the party. We ended up staying to talk for a little while and we started noticing people dancing on their table after the meal. This was great. We ended up partying all night at Taverna Opa! What a great time! more

I went to Taverna Opa recently and I have to say, i absolutely loved it!!! First, the ambiance was great, you walk through the front doors and end up in an upper class Greek restaurant from the start. Next, the service was absolutely amazing. And finally, I have to say they have the best Gyro Wraps around! more

Fun atmosphere with live entertainment 2/16/2011

Last weekend my family and I went to Taverna Opa for dinner. I have to say it was absolutely wonderful and a great experience. My family was glad we chose to try something new! The waiter was friendly and the food was delicious. We are definitely going to come in very soon again. They have live entertainment and great seafood. I think I’m going to have my birthday party at taverna Opa. more

Great for a one time experience. You don't need more than that. Food is average at best. Go when it's cooler out or the summer heat will kill you. It's all open. more

I was just at this restaurant last week on Friday and had SUCH a blast! Not only was the place hopping with great music but everyone was dancing on the tables and having fun. Even the waiters were on the tables dancing and the belly dancers came out and gave a show twice that evening. I've never seend such a place. Food was great and the portions were large. Wait staff was friendly and a festive atmosphere. I definitely need to bring my family! more

Rockin good time! 1/17/2011

I loved my evening at taverna opa and i do mean evening. This place is like no other i have ever been with waiters AND diners dancing on the tables, belly dancers, Greek waiters and fantastic food. Where can you go and dance on your table after your meal? The food was wonderful, the place was packed and everyone had a smile on their face... what a change from other restaurants. Lots of people in large parties and everyone was enjoying the atmosphere. Like I said- i've never heard of a place like this but I am now taking all my friends! You really should see it... it's alot of fun and the music is wonderful. At 10pm they have a DJ come and play dance music.. the entire place was on the tables! more

Tip: Happy Hour 2-8 M-Th. Sit at the bar and have half price drinks and apps instead of sitting at a table. Family friendly means lots of kids and babies. more

Loved it! 12/21/2010

At one point during our meal a few nights ago, I was having such a good time that my mind faded into its thoughts! I remember a brief moment of true gratification. Everyone was having wine, there was plenty of food on the table, we all had huge smiles on our faces and there were napkins falling from the ceiling! The rest was a tad blurry, but everyone at Taverna Opa was so pleasant and GREEK! The service was impeccable! Expect my return. more

Great meal! 12/21/2010

Its hard to hit a perfect score when your meal arrives a bit late, but I understood why, they were very busy. My waiter also took a few moments to break a plate! It was all well worth the wait. I had lamb chops and red wine. Mmm! Cooked to perfection, the lamb was soft and ever so slightly charred. My mouth is watering a little bit, I'll stop while I'm ahead! more

Nice lunch menu, device at the outside bar was good. My husband had the Greek quesadilla and loved it. I had the chicken soulvaki and it was good, but not great. The tzatziki sauce made up for the chicken. more

I was skeptical of Taverna Opa because I'm not a big fan of Greek food but I came away impressed. The pita bread was good and I loved the hummus, which I don't normally like. I had the souvlaki platter with chicken, vegetables, & lemon potatoes and it tasted great. The souvlaki is full of meat and the sauce and onions went very well with it. I thought the lemon potatoes were too lemony for my tastes but I could see how they would be popular. I also thought the roasted vegetables were very good. A little over-priced but still a very good meal. more

Greek food not cooked by greeks! 8/11/2010

I've been to TAVERNA OPA in Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale in the past and we've always been happy. But this week West Palm Beach- -NO GOOD!, we orderd the lamb ribs and my father's fish were great!, the 2 Lobsters were too slimy, the Octopus was like from a CAN! we didn't eat it, the mousaka was HORRIBLE! the ground meat was slightly uncookded and no flavor very bland. Filet mignon kabobs hard with no flavor too. \r we were so unhappy we took a peek at whose cooking in the kitchen? not GREEKS! \r the Bar drinks were great and We were visiting from another state and we decided to take my family there for dinner and even though we had a great time the food was not.\r \r I will not visit this place in the future. more

This place is wild and fun. The food is pretty average but the atmosphere makes up for it.. Dancing and throwing napkins in the air is a pretty fun Saturday night to me! Don't know about the other locations but this one seems right on the ball. more
