What a Cool Place! 12/16/2002

This place is a Gem! What a great time! What a great Reataurant! No fancy restaurant B.S. Great food, cool room, & bright staff. We pulled up, valeted the car, had a great meal, hit a Few Old City bars, Tangerine was the strarting point of a great evening. A couple bottles of good wine and we were ready to do the town. We got in as a walk-in, we had no idea how big this place was, the whole fruit reference. I had a this duck, with foie gras, roasted pair, an dthese amazing creamed onions the melted in your mouth. This place is a Gem! What a great time! What a great Reataurant! No fancy restaurant B.S. Great food, cool room, & bright staff. We pulled up, valeted the car, had a great meal, hit a Few Old City bars, Tangerine was the strarting point of a great evening. A couple bottles of good wine and we were ready to do the town. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is tough to beat at this Old City Jewel. The menu offers almost anything someone could want...the Halibut, Whole fish, Duck, and Beef Entrees were perfect. The Wine List was full of great finds...Austrian Riesling, Cali Chards, Rhone Whites and Reds, Great Cabs, and Italian Signatures, all with very reasonable mark-ups. The Staff was great at guiding us through a ""Mederterainian Influenced"" menu. The dishes were all served so they could be shared and deserts were delicious. I've been to most all of the ""Starr"" restaurants and I thought this was the best...great food and ambience, but much easier to get a table at then Morimoto or the Budha place. Pros: Romantic, Great Food, Nice Wine Selection Cons: Parking in Old City more

no moroccan food 11/13/2002

Their web page stated they had moroccan food, middle eastern food, I called to make reservations and asked if they had moroccan food, they said yes. The only thing moroccan or middle eastern was the a vegetable couscous dish that appeared to be on the menu just to satisfy their statement of having moroccan food. When we sat down, we asked the server if they had moroccan food, she said no. Ambiance was nice, seating was to far apart to be romantic. Too dark to read the menu. Decor was almost too pretentious. We left, went to an Afghani restaurant down the street and had a terrific evening. Cons: no moroccan food, no middle eastern foo, too dark more

Good Food, Great Atmosphere, a bit pricey! 11/5/2002

I enjoy going here because the atmosphere is really cool and it is a terrific place to bring friends and lounge around. The food is good, but I would say that given the portion sizes, it is too expensive and they would do better if they gave people a bit more food. Pros: Great Atmosphere, Good Service, Great Desserts Cons: Too Pricey, Beef Dishes are Poor, Portions too small more

Too Bad!! 10/14/2002

Tangerine started out so good but now....too bad!!! The last two times I went there (I will not go again) the food went from interestingly delightful to almost non-existent (the portions were miniscule) and ho-hum. Not acceptable for their high prices. The atmosphere is still lovely but I go to a restaurant to eat! Drinks were ok - high priced but somewhat interesting. Tangerine started out so good but now....too bad!!!
