I've been ordering from Tandoor (via GrubHub) for a couple of years now. Food is amazing, I usually specify some kind of a spice level in the special instructions which are followed to the T! Delivery time is ~35 minutes which is amazing for freshly made Indian food. more

Eh eh, there's nothing else i can say 4/30/2009

Food was greasy. Though if you can handle a little grease in your meal, then best of luck to you. For ten dollars, I guess you really cannot expect that much out of a little buffet. There was sufficient vegetarian dishes, but even then those were also were packed with grease. Whatever happened to nice steamed vegetables with a little sprinkling of oil being served in restaurants? All in all, Tandoor is unexceptional, but adequate. Pros: Cheap Cons: Greasy, processed more

poor example of Indian food 9/22/2008

The food was greasy and not-that-good...overly salted and generally disappointing. The dinner buffet at around 930 PM was pretty dismal and hardly anything was left. Not many vegetarian options either. Have had much better meals from the buffet around the corner at New Delhi, who replenish their buffet even late, have many veggie options, and things aren't soggy and overly-salted. Also had old-looking salad at their buffet. Atmosphere is dingy and nothing special. Lame. I won't go again. Cons: servers dont seem to speak english, stare at you, food is greasy and overly salty and old more

Good Vegetarian indian food.... 5/13/2008

I went to this restaurant and turned back quite satisfied with a promise to owner to visit them again in a week. The dishes were very tasty.especially vegetarian as my husbadn dint like the chicken curry much. Pros: Excellent vegetarian food and chats and chatnies Cons: naans were not that fresh more

go elsewhere for Indian 1/11/2008

After going here with a class for dinner, I can honestly say that although our professor paid for the meal (which was very nice of him, btw ;) ), the meal in itself was vile. I chose from a meager selection of very bland options (that were all lukewarm or cold). Avoid! (Go to New Delhi, which is just around the corner :) ) Cons: got sick from the food, which was cold and flavorless more

good food, good value 11/30/2007

i was pleasantly surprised when i went to tandoor. my friends and i found it by accident when we were trying to go to fatou and fama (whoops, forgot it's closed on monday!). this place is DEFINITELY better than new delhi, which is the indian buffet around the corner on chestnut. the food here is actually seasoned, unlike the extremely bland food i have been finding at so many other indian restaurants. plus, when i went, they had barfi for dessert, which is not a common find at most buffets. usually, you only get kheer (rice pudding) and oversweetened gulab jamun (when it's done right, you're not supposed to feel like you're going to go into a diabetic coma!). more

WORST INDIAN FOOD 6/18/2007

I've no idea how come these guys are still in business. This is the worst indian food I've ever tasted. They probably have some non-indian chef with recipes written by their manager, who put food out on table without even tasting it. One of my friends just ate salad so I guess this explain everything. Cons: everything more

great delivery! good food for a great price 5/7/2007

this is the first time ive tried ordering from this place. the guy was very nice when he delivered my food. i find in contrast to the other place i frequent that you get more for you money. although the food maybe a bit more greasier, it is VERY tastey and that makes up for it. the prompt service, hot food delivered to my doorstop was more than an excuse to give him a decent tip. Pros: fast service, great food more

Great Indian buffet! 11/20/2006

Tandoor India is one of U. City's great buffet restaurants. If you love all the flavors of India, this is a great place to try. The Chicken Masala is especially good. Pros: Large selection Cons: Can become crowded more

What a Buy!!! 10/5/2006

This is a great place!! Good food on buffet, love the flavors and the tandoori chicken is wonderful. Pleasant service, though mostly is self-serve. Great place for really inexpensive lunch or after-work dinner. My husband and I and a friend and I go there often, never disappointed!! Really, if you're in the University City area, try it and be impressed!! Pros: Good food, excellent seaoning Cons: Can be crowded at lunch time, but worth the wait more

avoid this place like the plague 9/4/2006

The food here is atrocious. Both dishes we got were swimming in grease. It was unbelievable how bad it was, to be honest. The garlic naan was OK, but nothing spectacular. I'm pretty sure that it was just pita bread that was, of course, covered in oil and one or two tiny pieces of garlic. All the food on the buffet looked similarly awful and sitting underneath at least a half inch of pure grease. It was a far cry from fresh naan. I can't understand how this place is recommended in Zagat's. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in my life, in places that you would not expect to have good Indian food, and this was BY FAR the worst I have ever had. I cannot tell you how upset my stomach is right now. Once I left there I was wishing that I had my appetite back so I could eat something else just to get the taste of this place out of my mouth. Pros: price, speedy service Cons: food is pretty awful more

curry delight 8/31/2006

Great naan. Pros: Great naan. Nice atmosphere Cons: Variety comparable with two other Indian Resturants more

Good food, not a large selection 8/25/2005

This restaurant was ok. The food was tasty but the buffet was not very big. The selection could have been larger. If you are into crispy pita bread go here. The buffet at dinner was $9.95. The restaurant is small and quite. The vegetarian dishes were the best. The variety was terrible. Pros: cute restaurant, veg dishes were good, cheap Cons: not a large selection, fruit looked terrible more
