Tanbark Kennels

I have used this kennel a few times without any major problems. The last time that I boarded my dog we picked him up and he was extrmely dirty and smelled of urine. When I questioned the staff I was greeted with an attitude and told that it wasn't her fault and she wanted to know what I wanted her to do about it. When I called the owner he was of no help either. He said that my dog was a ""messy keeper"" whatever that means. When I explained that in his 9 years of life we have NEVER had this problem with our dog he really didn't have much to say. These people are great dog & animal people. You drive in and see Horses, chickens and many other animals peacefully co-existing. We were late for a flight one time & ""Jeter"" had not had a necessary shot. They took him to our vet & let us make our flight. That, to me, is above & beyond the ""call of duty"". I hate leaving my best buddy anytime but having Tanbark sure cushions the blow! Pros: My Dog wags his tail when I drop him off Cons: only the hours and no late pickup more

Have to agree with below review on many accounts. Outside kennels when overbooked can also be very hot. Staff leaves very early on weekends. Dogs not let out No dogs are walked except out to the outside pens. When overbooked in summer, dogs are in outside kennels with no protection from mosquitos.\r \r The kennels ARE NOT air conditioned EVER. I have been using this kennel for many years and trust everybody there. Most of the employees have been there for several years and they all really love the animals. My dogs are happy to go into the kennel and are also happy when they come out. It is a very clean facility with extra attention to the animals. I like the fact that the dogs get walked daily as I feel that gives them more one on one attention. Pros: clean, animal friendly, also offer grooming more

Pros = large kennel runs, pleanty of space to accomodate multiple dogs together. I have boarded my 2 large dogs during both the winter and summer months, and have found that each time the kennel areas were both heated and cooled to a very comfortable level. Management was able to cater to my special needs dog (diet and medication). Cons = not open on sundays for pick-up In response to the above review, it is true that the staff does leave the property at 5pm, what was failed to mention, is that the owner, her son, and the kennel manager all live on the property and check the animals several times after hours. I am aware of this, as per my pros and my special needs dog. I highly recommend this kennel, I have been a patron, and have developed a strong likmeing for the personnel and the atmosphere. more

Ended up not leaving my dog there. Owner refused to let me see where dog would be kept. Was rude about it. Tried to ask when I could come back to see and she was not helpful. Told me to eithr make an appt or not. Other worker tried to help, but owner todl her leave area. Cons: Customer Service more

Positive - kennels are kept very clean. Negatives - hours limited Open only 8-5 No indoor/outdoor runs. Dogs need to be walked to outside pens. Limited access to outside areas - employees leave at 5 PM. Dogs not let out agin until next day. On weekends and holidays - dogs not let out after 2PM. Dogs need to relieve themselves inside.
